I have a question, but I'm not sure if I can word it correctly.

There is a small group of Christian Regulars on this site that are highly appreciated by a large group of atheists and others. Contemplative_Chanteuse comes to mind, David M, Schneb, Wolfblayde, Father K and a few others. (Don't be angry if I left you out, most of you know who I mean).

They are respectful defenders of their faith, yet they all seem to have a little of the 'live and let live' that most atheists value so much.

Now, if I encounter an atheist on this forum that says things I highly disagree with, that I find offensive towards others...it always makes me feel kinda uncomfortable. I know it has nothing to do with me, but it still annoys me if somebody defends my beliefs in such a bad way.

If other Christians defend your beliefs in a disrespectful manner towards other faiths, how does that make you feel? Uncomfortable? Or do you just don't care, because you know it doesn't rub off on you?

True confession time: I have a temper and a sarcastic streak not much bigger than the Mississippi. (As if I really had to say that to anyone who's been around me for more than ten minutes.)

Sometimes I pop off with a remark that I am later embarassed to have made. Under normal circumstances, my attitude is, "If you have to resort to name-calling and nastiness, you didn't have much of an argument to begin with."

It makes me uncomfortable when other people who profess the Name of Christ are rude, vicious, and cruel towards those with different beliefs. But at the same time, I realize that I am the only one whose remarks should embarass me. I'm responsible for them -- not what someone else says.

So consider this a long-winded apology for all the times that I've frothed at the mouth around here. My bad and then some.

I've been on R&S for over a month. But some believers answer
very well. I give them a thumbs up. But I don't think people should be rude but you can hide behind a computer. I believe
you should live and let live, unless someone is truly looking for
an answer. It bothers me when a Christian has a real problem and wants help and all the unnecessary comments are interjected. I am not here to convince any atheist about
there belief or non belief. I don't like to see Christian quarrel
with each other in front on non-believers. But what they say
about other faiths is there deal not mine. The only thing about
that , then non-believers judge all of us by them. That's what
I see.

We will be hated we are not greater than our Master!

i do feel uncomfortable with all the insults....

at first, i would get really annoyed, but then i realised that there will always be stupid people, and we cant stop them, so we should just ignore them. i've been here long enough to know this!

a true christain will not insult someone if they have offended them. if we insult others who insult us, then what good is that??? hatred will only breed more hatred
two wrongs dont make a right!

my advice to all is that if you have been insulted, report the 'abuser', or just ignore it. if you want, you could politely point out the insulting comment, and tell them that those comments are not apprecitaed

yahoo should be doing more to stop people from posting insulting questions or comments. i see it all the time!

you sound like a sensilbe person. good on you!!!

if we all just deal with the 'abuse' in postive ways and not create more abuse, then this site will be a better place!

my challenge to all:

lets all just respect each other's beliefs and opinions and not be insulting!!!

have a nice day people!
God bless!

A year or so in the past someone claimed to have left Yahoo yet nevertheless being allowed to be a moderator! a number of the folk the following with huge rankings look waiting to regulate the scoring device and earnings twenty or extra factors on the most suitable minute before vote casting closes! there is turning out to be suspicion that a number of those everybody is moderators abusing the device! a lengthy time period decrease back I had a monitoring cookie which got here from YA solutions! My solutions suffered huge votes adversarial to. Then I in basic terms added a line to all my solutions saying the rigging of votes adversarial to me should be by technique of a moderator and it stopped! what's lacking is any device to envision on moderators and a severe mind-set to attraction break free the moderators if the first attraction is rejected because that lots of the options look ridiculous! it really is Yahoos credibility and impartiality that's in question the following!

The disresctful manner is usually in the question, and its often easy to see who is irrevently trolling. Myself, having experinced Gods mindset,I truely believe that belief in Jesus is ones salvation. That the early churches chose to add the need for creeds as a way to instill that belief was shortsighted because what he teaches are ways to live the Good life without creeds. Only the very ignorant want to think their unaffected by what others say and being comfortable is not living a good life, thus if we experince uncomfortableness from other peroples questions then we can strengthen ours and others faiths with prime answers, but not until we ask God to lead our answers, as is promised by the way.

Well, personally, I could do without the hypocritical judges, who seem to believe they are Jesus, so they think they have the right to judge others. It ticks me off because then people seem to think we're all like that. We're all sinners, we're all guilty of something, they need to take the planks out of their own eyes. I also have a problem with those that think they can "make" someone believe. It doesn't work like that. We can't "make" anyone believe anything. Our job was to spread the word, it's done, if someone chooses not to believe, that's called free will. It's wrong to try to convert those who don't want to convert. If someone asks me a question about God, I'll answer it, but I certainly am not going up to people bugging them with the word of God. If they want it, they'll ask.

No one should be disrespectful. Try not believing everything you see and hear. There are many posing as christians in these forums, when in reality, they are not christian at all. Only mockers in disguise, trying to discredit christianity through their abusive language and their arrogance. God is Love and anything that is not of Love, is not from God. This is how you know a true follower of Christ Jesus.
Praise The Holy Lamb Of God !!!!!
God Bless You....Peace.

Well, I don't know if you mean me too, but I have always assumed that the people who make rude and offensive remarks are simply immature.

It doesn't really matter whether they are Christian or Atheist, Muslim or Buddhist lol, immaturity is rampant around here sometimes lol

How do I feel about them? I don't feel accountable for them, just sort of sorry that they are missing out on Love. What hatred must be in their hearts!

Oh, absolutely. There are plenty of folks who would tell me I'm going straight to Hell, even though I'm a Christian, i.e., I believe that Jesus of Nazareth was the Messiah that the Jews were waiting for who provides reconciliation with God. Because I also believe in things like history, science, reason, and not just accepting the 66 books of the Bible as God's sole and literal revelation, I'm sure that many of today's Christian Pharisees would treat me just as poorly as you non-Christians get treated.

I can get a little upset.
You see, it is kinda like being a bully.
Forcing things on other people.
That bully spirit (whether you believe in spirits or not, I do) will use anybody that it can.
It will divde using "bullying".

GOD is the Perfect Gentleman.
You can see it in the New Testament Walk of Jesus.

Most People don't know that when they act like this, no matter Who they Are, that spirit is in Operation.
Ain't no bully's in Heaven.

Yeah, I can dislike what I see (read), Takes time for People to change their ways.
Maybe I have said something about this in my answers.
To help. Both of them. (bully, bullied).
Ditto............
