we humans are aliens, in regards to jupiter lets say. just because nothing lives there dosnt mean we wouldnt be aliens if we visited it. we are aliens when we go else where but earth, even if nothing lives there. how about that?

and I won't believe it is possible unless an alien knocks on my front door and proves to me that he is an alien. If this does not happen then they can not possibly exist.

Would an atheist agree with my criteria for proof of the existence of aliens from another planet?

Pope Benedict appeared to reach out to the anti-globalisation movement yesterday, attacking rich nations for having "plundered and sacked" Africa and other poor regions of the world. The Pope's 400-page book, entitled Jesus of Nazareth, is to be published on April 16, his 80th birthday. TPC: Jesus Wouldn’t Bomb a Soul: Camara is noted for once having said, “When I give food to the poor, they call me a saint. When I ask why the poor have no food, they call me a Communist.” Leonardo Boff in particular drew Ratzinger’s wrath. Boff, another Brazilian clergyman, was even more radical in the eyes of the Church than Camara.

I am writing a paper on differences and similarities between catholics and methodist faiths. I am looking for some good websites to learn about the catholic faith if anyone has some suggestions. Preferably .org sites as they are more reliable then .com sites. Thanks for any help.

As a Roman Catholic, I know all the church's & religious reasons given why a priest is supposed to be celebate, i.e. to be married to God & the faith etc. but I find it incredible that this still remains the rule. My opinion is that is unnatural and cruel to expect a man to sacrafice companionship, love and physical relationships with another human being in order to serve God. Loving another human being surely does not restrict a man's capability to love and serve God? What kind of person then does the church appeal to? Someone who does not need a healthy loving relationship in their life? Is this why there is so much peadophilia discovered within priests? If God is all loving, why would he be so selfish as to demand that a man willing to serve him, be exclusive to Him only? Why would God not want his loyal servant to be rewarded with the joy of having a family and experiencing the love of a partner or children.Surely there is no greater thing in this life than to love and be loved.

Being a Christian is ignorance. To believe in something you can't see or touch is ignorant, even if it gives you comfort. What I hear from most Atheists... "If you are a Christian then you are closeminded and prejudice." Totally different from most "open-minded and accepting" Atheists.

Anyone else as proud of their "ignorance" as I am??

If Jesus didn't die on the cross but seemed as if dead, then after rest and care he could have 'risen' again and gone elsewhere, where he wasn't known, where there were no Romans?

please give examples that happened some time within, atleast, the last hundred years.

every time someone brings up radical islam's killing of anyone who does not agree with them and using the koran to justify their actions, someone always seems to bring up the inquisition or the crusades or some other action that happened hundreds, sometimes a thousand years ago? Those 'wars' were carried out by kings and emperors who controled an entire nation and made everyone do what they wanted them to. They were not carried out by groups of like-minded religous people who got together and decided to christianize the world through force, such as you see in islam.

They also like to bring up the idea that christian groups kill abortion doctors and other people who's beliefs dont agree with their own but they never seem to have examples or are able to show how the so-called christians justified their actions through the Bible.

please help me understand!

I am part native, traditionally shamanism.
I am also part Irish, traditionally paganism.

From my research, both are extremely simular, in their symbology and ties to nature.
Is shamanism concidered a form or a part of paganism?

I feel threatened because they keep denying the messiah, and they are God's chosen people. Should they be right? Or were they still blinded and weak in faith as we have seen in the old testament? Even after all the miracles they have witnessed by God, and they still turned on him when they encounter trouble or doubts.

So should I be suprised that they will doubt Jesus as Lord?
