the bible says in Mark 1:15 "The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand: repent, and believe the gospel." I believe it's more then saying you're sorry, you should be sorry, you've sinned against God. I think there is a difference in saying your sorry and repenting, what do you think?

I believe it's important to be humble, and I want to show my son a good example of a humble person . What kind of things should I show him that would be humbling for me ? What's part of being humble ? What ISN'T part of being humble ? A child should be respectful and
obedient . What else should people see in my son if he becomes a humble person ?

You are making an assumption that God has no choice as to when and how sin is punished. Your are saying that God is sitting up there saying "Hey, that's how sins are handled. That's not my department." You are saying that God set up the sin punishment process but somehow cannot change it at will. The only way the sin punishment process can be changed is if God "kills" himself on the cross. Why is God under that restriction?

This morning, the first prayer ever by a Muslim cleric in the Texas Senate will be delivered by the Imam Yusuf Kavakci of the Dallas Central Mosque at the invitation of state Sen. Florence Shapiro, R-Plano. (Articles I have found make note that Shapiro is Jewish.) Some Christians find this to be inappropriate because it is holy week. However, the reason for the Imam leading the opening prayer is because it is the (3rd) Texas Muslims Legislative Day. Why cannot these people understand that it is appropriate for this reason?

~I apologize for the generalization of "they" in the question area...it was used due to character restraints.~

IMPOSSIBLE...

If you believe in evolution, aren't you saying that what the bible says about creation, is a lie? And if so, why follow what you consider a lie.

Evolution has not been proven... it is a theory as vague as many believe the beliefs of believers are.

Please don't be deceived. Jesus has warned us against this.

I can't tell you what to think... but read for yourself and dont just take people's words for it.

...as a Christian?

1. Robin Williams, I would Love to see him get into the gospel and preach!

2. Keanu Reeves, because that is where his heart belongs and he needs it, as it is what he has been looking for, to sink his teeth into.

3. Eddie Murphy, as he would be a riotous Preacher and very soulful!

(Last and not least)
4. Johnny Depp, I believe he has a very deep spiritual side and I would be a captive audience, loving to watch and take it all in... I think we could all learn a thing or two from his experiences in life.

Who do you think?

1) God created us and then tempted us, even though he knew we would do what he didn't want us to do (sin).
2) God punished us anyway
3) God then sent himself to be killed to save us from his own wrath.

A disciple asked Ramana Maharshi:
Should I not try to help the suffering world?

And he replied:
The Power that created you has created the world as well. If it can take care of you, It can similarly take care of the world also.... If God has created the world it is His business to look after it not yours.

I think I disagree with this, unless I'm misunderstanding it. I believe we should do everything we can to alleviate suffering in the world.
Am I missing the intent of Ramana Maharshi's statement?
What are your thoughts on this?

I've always believed that Christianty meant that those who beleuived were saved regardless of actions as a result of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. If this is true then why cant we all just live how we want? Okay, so that might be a bit simplistic, but my point is:
Does Jesus teach us to live a cerain way? Does He tell us there are things we are supposed to do in order to please God? What if we don't do them?

I'm a Muslim Alhumdulilah.I belives that ISLAM is the only TRUE religion in the universe.I read a poem online.i wanna share it with u all.

Da'wah to a Non-Muslim Woman
(A True Experience)

I spoke to you about Islaam
You did not know before
A Christian is what you professed
But wanted to learn more...

Your views, I learnt, were so distorted
Misconceptions - plain
You thought Islaam was crooked, false!
I helped you think again...

You thought us women were deprived
No honour, grace or rights!
But as we spoke your face just changed
As if you'd seen the light...

Then to my great surprise you asked
To see His Book, Qur'aan!
My heart rejoiced as now I hoped
In your heart lay eemaan (faith)!

I hurried out to get a copy
While you still sat there
"O my Lord! Please guide this lady"
I had said in prayer...

Soorah Maryam I had chose
And gave you Allaah's Book
You quietly took it to your seat
And peacefully did look...
