There is a prophetic statement told by prophet Muhammed (narrated by both Sahih Bokhary and Sahih Moslim) where prophet Muhammed told his companions that the paradise is under the shadows of their swords.

Does this mean that prophet Muhammed encouraged his companions to use their swords?

I am a Christian and everytime I ask a question about faith a lot of the Athiest come back with angry remarks...offensive remarks even...I do not judge them for not having any faith, yet they judge me on my faith...I don't mind opinions...That's what this forum is for...I just don't understand the anger and the hatred

If I were to create a set of rules pretending that God gave them to me to pass onto the masses, would I have followers? And if I would, then shouldn't the Godbelievers admit that they are just a herd which needs to be guided, because they have no personality, principles or their own direction in life other than what's fed to them? And if they wouldn't follow my "writings", why do they follow the Bible? How do they know that it is a divine book, and now some guy like me wrote 2000 years ago? Just because it says that in the text which the guy/gal him/herself wrote?

The Hadiths say she was 6 when Mohammad, then in his 50s, took Aisha to be his "wife". The Hadiths also say she was 9 when they ... ummm.... "did it".

Multiple Hadiths say the same thing. 6 @ marriage, 9 @ sex.

However...surprise surprise...Muslims (Mohammadeans) contradict the Hadiths and say...

"NO! She was 12!"
"NO! She was 13!"
"NO! She was 14!"
"NO! She was 15!"
"NO! She was 16!"
"NO! She was 18!"
"NO! She was 19!"

etc...

or "It's none of your business!"

Someone from my last question said:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkcLxFpozpQjnl0skG9tgo3sy6IX?qid=20070327181305AA0ONGV
"Who said Aisha is pre teen, if you understand Arabic , you clearly know she was 19."

Silly me...I don't know Arabic so clearly I have no idea what I am talking about. Brilliant reasoning. (NOT)

I guess I should "go learn more before I open my mouth" (lol)

I also guess this means ALL NUMERICAL REFERENCES in the Hadiths are to be considered unreliable as well?

Since they weren't really mentioned in the bible. Other than you assuming all of us humaniod looking creatures are man. The East asians weren't technically mentioned. Just the Jews, Blacks, Whites. THey are also less hairy so i'd say they didn't evolve from monkeys they most have been angels.

I have heard some pretty crazy testimonies on how people accepted Jesus Christ, and I want to know yours...big or small. I will put my testimony on how Jesus healed me...I really do not have one on how I was saved because I was saved when I was seven...but it is good none the less

Hello All,
I recently went to an Alan Ames healing session in a Catholic Church and I was amazed that the Catholics were promoting an evangelist (healer) of this kind. My question is, how can people take seriously a man no different than themselves and believe he has conversations with angels, Mary, Jesus and God himself to which they reply?
At the end of the day I believe that people are going to faint when they believe something like that so much. Where do we draw the line, cults have these sorts of practices and events which yield the same results?
Do evangalists healers take advantage of people or do you believe that God really runs through them more than yourself?

The biography of prophet Muhamemd tells that he married a woman (Asmaaa Bint Al Numan) and on their wedding night he found that she had white patches on her skin (most likely Leukoderma) and therefore he DIVORCED her for that.

March 1, 2007 | "What I want to know is: Why haven't these American Muslims you write about denounced terrorism?" The speaker, wearing an expression of earnest frustration, stood first in line to get a signed copy of my new book after a reading I did last week at the Los Angeles Public Library. "You say there are these moderate Muslims," he continued. "Why don't we hear from them about terrorism?"

It's a question I've heard at every bookstore, library, radio station and television studio where I've appeared around the country in the past month as I promoted my book "American Islam: The Struggle for the Soul of a Religion." More than five years after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, many Americans still want to know why they haven't heard Muslims in the U.S. issue louder, clearer condemnations of terrorism. Muslim Americans who attend my readings often counter, sometimes with great emotion, that they have repeatedly

Is it simply an attempt to silence all disapproval by nominally associating it with something that makes it sound bad but is clearly inaccurate? If you diapprove or reject of something, let us say for instance a child's behavior and wish to correct him or point him or her to some alternative or you hating or bashing? I do not think so. I find a relevant proverb to this,
How do you interpret this in daily life?
Whoever corrects a mocker invites insult. Whoever rebukes a wicked person incurs abuse. Do not rebuke a mocker or they will hate you. Rebuke a wise person and they will love you. Proverbs 9:7-8

I'm a happily married stay at home, home schooling Mom of three gorgeous brainiac children...and I'm an Atheistic Pagan Rationalist! I've been married for 18 yrs and have been home schooling for 9yrs. My children are wonderfully social, highly functioning people.

16 yr old son - about to graduate with 8 math credits including Calculus, speaks 3 languages and had won several science awards.

11yr old daughter - just finished a college level ancient history course, speaks 3 languages and excels at writing and art.

26 month old daughter - knows ABC's (can identify them not just say them) can count to 10, knows shapes and colors, is beginning addition and subtraction and is learning Italian.

They all take music lessons and are involved in atheletics.

I believe the public schools are below standard and far too christianized.

So, does that surprise you?
