My mom really wants me to convert to catholicism. She has converted.
I am prochoice, support gay marriage, and think that the entire world should have access to birthcontrol.
Those are just a few examples of my beliefs that don't exactly jive with catholisim.
Please answer fast because I have to make my decision before the easter vigil.
Should a very liberal ("socialist") jew convert to catholicism because her mother wants her too?

So I would really like to know why most women who call themselves christians simply chose to ignore this bible verse?

Ephesians 5:22-33
Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church

How could you possibly say that the bible is the true word of god, and inspired by god, if you simply chose to ignore certain parts that dont quite suit you?

4 years ago I found out that my husband had been commiting adultery. He travels in his work and had had numerous one night stands over several years. I suspected as much but he always denied it to the point of making me feel bad for doubting him. He let his guard down and got caught. After much soul searching and praying I felt I should leave him, but I didn't. I was insecure and I just was plain old afraid to start out on my own. I've heard that other couples get past it and have stronger relationships, but Its been 4 years and I just can't get past it. I smile and try to act like nothing is the matter, but I've got a wall around me. I keep him at arms length emotionally, I dont even talk to friends about anything other than trivial stuf. Ive prayed and asked God to help me, but I just dont have any faith n my husband any more. I feel God's will was to get out 4 years ago and now he doesnt listen to my prayers for help in this anymore. Will this ever get better? has any1 gon thru this

According to the KJV Bible, Jesus accended into heaven and was seated at the right hand of God. Wouldn't that make them seperate? Before Jesus was crucified, He prayed to God. Again wouldn't that make them seperate? Jesus wouldn't have prayed to Himself would he? Please help me to understand and back it up with the scriptures to prove what you are telling me. Thank you in advance.

I know many people are not able to comprehend God (don't believe in Him); and that's their choice. But are there people who actually hate Him?

If by being bad one person makes another person good, is it true he helped that person? Would the "bad guy" accumulate good or bad karma in this circumstance?

This is not a question for people who don't believe in karma.

Morality or Religion?
A quick quote from an interesting article, and a link to the rest of it......

"These four kinds of behavior — empathy, the ability to learn and follow social rules, reciprocity and peacemaking — are the basis of sociality.
Dr. de Waal sees human morality as having grown out of primate sociality, but with two extra levels of sophistication. People enforce their society’s moral codes much more rigorously with rewards, punishments and reputation building. They also apply a degree of judgment and reason, for which there are no parallels in animals.
Religion can be seen as another special ingredient of human societies, though one that emerged thousands of years after morality, in Dr. de Waal’s view. There are clear precursors of morality in nonhuman primates, but no precursors of religion. So it seems reasonable to assume that as humans evolved away from chimps, morality emerged first, followed by religion. “I look at religions as recent additions,” {continued}
