Most Churches will, or should allow water baptisms in rivers. The reason some do not is that if you were required to travel to be baptized you might not come. So for the convenience of the congregation they do them in Church. Ask the pastor or priest and see if they would be willing to perform a baptism in a river. Best of luck.
Blessings!

Of course. A river, a pond, a swimming pool, a baptistry. It's not so much the place, as it is the act. And yes, there are still many churches who practice baptism in the river.
In fact, I was baptized in a river. But I've baptized others in a swimming pool, baptistry, etc.

Yes; But note: It is not the water that purify you but the belief, the faith and your commitment to repent from you old ways toward around and become a new creation (re-Born) through your belief and the Principles that God (Through prayer study and Holy Spirit intervention of thoughts and actions) that are laid out to help you grow more in your understanding of the "Word." Baptism is only a step toward Righteousness or your Journey to become. By Changing the way you think about sin (principles) and the world, you can become that new creature..
Any water source can be used. Many Churches will do it if you pre-arrange it with the Pastor. Baptism is symbolic and also an obedience step (cleanings).

Yep. My cousin goes to a non-denominational Christian church in VA (right outside Washington DC) and they do baptisms wherever people want to be baptized. They'll do them in rivers, lakes, anywhere. I saw a video of my cousin throwing a baptism party in her pool. The same video showed other people getting baptized in hot tubs and some kids getting dunked in a blow up kiddie pool.
I'll even add the link to the video
