No. But it does say at one point that the sun stopped, which is of course impossible.

genesis: in an apparent endorsement of astrology, God places the sun, moon, and stars in the firmament so that they can be used "for signs". This, of course, is exactly what astrologers do: read "the signs" in the Zodiac in an effort to predict what will happen on Earth. 1:14

God makes two lights: "the greater light [the sun] to rule the day, and the lesser light [the moon] to rule the night." But the moon is not a light, but only reflects light from the sun. And why, if God made the moon to "rule the night", does it spend half of its time moving through the daytime sky? 1:16

joshua: n a divine type of daylight savings time, God makes the sun stand still so that Joshua can get all his killing done before dark. 10:12-13

There is a part that states that the sun stopped to extend daylight hours for a battle. That would imply that the sun revolved around the earth. The passage clearly talks about the sun being in motion and that Yahweh made the sun stand still. However, in order for daylight to be extended the earth would need to stand still, not the sun.

No, but some people have interpreted it that way, not because it says that but because the science of the times dictated that Ptolemaic/Aristotelian view and so that was naturally read into it and now that scientific opinion is the other way it is read the other way. This is mainly because the scriptures are neutral on this issue, they simply do not address it directly except, as some may think, by a very vague and indirect implication .

Uhhh. No. Although there is some poetic language in there - as in many ancient texts - that does indicate the sun as just a light up in the dome of the sky. Too bad for Galileo some people take even poetry literally.

actually I think you are refering to where it says the sun is on a circuit, and all the anti-christians tried to use this to disprove Christianity until they learned the sun is revolving around the galaxy...that shut em up lol
