Victims of a cult? Con someone else? You obviously know nothing more about the Mormon Church than all of the hateful rhetoric spoken about them.
If you are religious in any way, you should try to see what common ground you have with them. I think you'd be very surprised. The missionaries have a message to share and they won't make you do anything you do not want to do. They will invite you to certain things, but everything is up to you.
There's a lot anti-Mormon propaganda printed by other churches, which spews lies and misconceptions about Mormons. The funny thing is you will never find any literature published by the Mormon Church attacking the beliefs of other religions. In fact, the Mormon Church constantly tells its members to be respectful of those of other faiths.
Invite them in and have a friendly discussion. You may learn something from the experience. If anything, you'll learn they are not loathsome people out to brainwash you, but are genuinely good-hearted Christians.

You could prepare yourself with some literature of what you happen to believe in. Athiest? How bout some stuff about there being no god, no heaven, no nothing. Catholic? Get out a book about the Pope and talk to them about the early days and read them some of Paul's work. Jewish? Get out the yamulke's and hold a sedar. On a serious note, I think if you respectfully told them that you are not interested, it makes you feel uncomfortable when they continually come to your house, and while you respect their hard work (whether you do or don't), unless they want to hear about your beliefs (good or bad) and want you to show up at their house with some athiest literature, they should leave and please don't return. But I'm with ya bruddah, there's nothing worse than having to listen to somebody elses religeous rant when you just don't believe in it.

Just put a small polite notice on your front door..." No religious Callers".
They should see this and comply with it.
As a J.W., who also does a door to door ministry, I personally feel that those persons who have a " do Not" sign are in reality not doing themselves any good.
Almighty God can use any method He likes to let you know what is COMING.
If people do not do it, He would even have the stones on the ground...cry out...
(LUKE 19:38-40) “saying: “Blessed is the One coming as the King in Jehovah’s name! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest places!” 39 However, some of the Pharisees from the crowd said to him: “Teacher, rebuke your disciples.” 40 But in reply he said: “I tell YOU, If these remained silent, the stones would cry out.””
The door to door work is faithfully copying just what the early apostles and disciples did.
From my point of view, less doors means less personal expense, to run the car and to even just arrive at your door.
So please, much as we would like you to listen and actually save your life, put up your sign and hope you are not alive when Armageddon happens. at that time, it will be too late...for you.

Do you think they have koodies or something? If this were a real life scenario just politely tell them you are not interested in their beliefs. Btw, we don't need your pity, and we are not victims of a cult.

Get a peep hole in the door so that you don't even have to open it of you see them there. I have found though that when I politely say I am not interested but wish them all the best for a great day, they tend to just wish me well and head off. Good luck, it's hard to be politely rude.

That happened to me one time. They came over almost every other day. I started to enjoy the company, as I was lonely at that time in my life. Anyhow, I got rid of them by expressing my beliefs, especially the ones they disagree with. I guess I gave them a dose of their own medicine, by starting to try and convert them. They never came back.

If they refuse to get a clue make sure to tell them that they wont get you into one of their commitments. Mormon missionaries have developed certain specific psychological tools to try to convert people. The commitment is one of them.

You can shock them with a fact that no one that is not in the church is supposed to know. Tell them that you do not believe that God is an adulterer in Heaven with a wife making baby spirits. I learned this 20 some years agao when I started getting involved with them and got out quickly. Also that there is no way we can atone for some ones sins who has already died they are responsible for themsleves. You can also tell them that you believe in the Father ,Son and Holy Ghost as a trinity. I tell them No thank You I am a Christian.

Tell them you are Jewish. Ask them if they keep the dietary laws in Leviticus, by saying "Do you keep kosher?"
They don't. Pork is strictly forbidden, as is mixing meat and dairy. "Thou shall not seethe the kid in its mother's milk." This makes cheeseburgers and most pizzas anathema.
You have them there. If they say they do, you can ask why they bother since they are only Mormons, and Hashem does not expect it of them. If they admit they don't, you can say, "Oy! Well, thank you for dropping by," and shut the door.
It works for me. Of course, I do wear a koppit, and have a mezuzah on my door.
