and there are alot of other verses that say stuff that kinda spells out the earth is flat.. im worried, i hate reading things that look like fallacies in the bible.
can someone give a logical explanation for this.
any flames or trolls will be reported.

Just think how useful it must be to have all these powerful Jewish business, legal, and political connections...Being a member of such a small yet accomplished and influential group. Surely if they put their minds to it, the Jews could rule the entire world, not just the pathetic 8,000 square miles of Israel...

But instead out of love God decided that he would send his son....

So he could send you to Hell for not worshipping his son instead.

Although I am an Atheist, before my husband and I had children, we decided that although we do not believe in any higher being, that we would make sure that our children had any/all religious instructions within their schooling years so they themselves could make their own decisions.. We have
4 children that are atheists as the questions they asked could never be answered. They tend to look inside themselves to find answers, not into any bible or religion. Do you agree that children are like a book of empty pages and we as parents should give them the choice as we did, and I am sure they will with their children, to fill those pages with opened mindedness and not what is being forced upon them. In other words if you are Catholic would you be so offended if your child picked Methodist religion or even to be an Atheist ?

I just put a relatively decent answer down for a question later revealed to have been asked by a troll.

Okay, I've done my share of troll questioning (like I asked if "Ye shall know them by their fruits" was a reference to Ted Haggard) and I still think some troll questions are really pretty funny - including the one I answered (asking why Allah uses virgins as call girls). But I also kind of feel bad for the people who don't see the humor and who put a lot of time and effort into answering these questions. A good troll question, though, gives you a good laugh and makes you think. Isn't answering trolls just a good way to refine your own arguments?

Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

This a serious question and not an attack on your form of Christianity. Several fundamentalists have decided that I, (also a Christian) should not have a yahoo account because I am Catholic and refuse to fully agree ( if at all ) with the fundamentalists interpretation of Christianity. Catholics find this behavior to be the opposite of following Christ. Do any fundamentalists agree?

When I was growing up I'd play what I called the Empire Game. I'd draw a map of the world and pretend I was conquering it, bit by bit, shading the lands I ruled in pencil. I've always loved strategy games like Age of Empires, Civilization, and Red Alert, and now I'm crazy about this online nation simulation game called Cyber Nations. Now I'm sixteen and studying political science and I want to have a really important office one day. Why do I have such a need to control things? Is it psychological?

Yahoo Answers is great. Amid the "Chirstian bashing" that my last question endured "What's wrong with Christianity?"

I found a resounding truth...

People are not offended by the teachings of Christ!!!

Most people think that loving people, and helping others, and having standards of behavior are good things..

but the major problem with "Christians" is the Hipocracy.

So I am now issuing a challenge... in order to return "Christianity" to better standing... How about people that claim to be "Christians" actually follow the teachings of Christ..

Drop the hate, quit condeming people, and start being concerned about people...

Jesus didn't preach "fire and brimstone" sermons... Jesus taught love and respect for all people, and accepting them for who they are and loving them anyway..

CHRISTIANS... I CHALLENGE YOU TO LIVE BY EXAMPLE!!

I have read here on Y/A and I've been told my many people that they have heard from God. I've heard members of LDS say that God directed them to the Mormon Church, yet others say that through prayer God led them to the JW Church, still some say God showed them the Holy-Spirit in a Pentacostal Church, Baptist etc. I believe these people believe their experience is true. I have heard Atheist say that they honestly prayed for God to reveal himself to them and...ZIP!! I believe them. Still others say when reaching out to God they felt led to be Muslim. All of these believe their experience or NO experience is real and honest.

Would it be logical to conclude at the very least this is confusing?

I'm not looking for answers like: Let the Holy Spirit guide you to "MY" truth and understanding...this is the very point I'm making.

somethings wrong!

this Is not a hate question I am just trying to learn something. What do Christians think of prehistoric fossils, what is the explanation according to the bible or according to your religion for them. I just read some news that they found a new type of lizard fossil and the question came to my mind.

then why doesn't he do something positive for a change.
if he can't, why do christians prey for any earthly intervention.
or is he a twisted devo who enjoys watching people suffer. playing silly criptic mind games, daring people to live their life according to single book, based on faith alone, which has no authorised creadability and which varies on definition.
did he throw in the capability of beieving in 7000 of the other religions of the world as a test and not revealing himself with his magical powers in any way that is detctable to our diminiative senses.
how come some christians claim to know so much about his capabilities, when they have witnessed as much 'real lack of evidence' as everyone else.
christians make up their own bs tailored to what they want to be true, because they can't accept death, think they are to important to just die.
when an organic system decays, it ceases to function, it is recycled to provide matterial for the beifit of earthly life that continues

I don't think that you recieve the Holy Ghost by merely speaking in tongues. I think that you recieve it when you are baptized in Jesus' name. Also I can't find the answer in the Bible so does someone know an exact verus that answers this question. (The Bible is the best source for this answer, not opinions).
