I just put a relatively decent answer down for a question later revealed to have been asked by a troll.
Okay, I've done my share of troll questioning (like I asked if "Ye shall know them by their fruits" was a reference to Ted Haggard) and I still think some troll questions are really pretty funny - including the one I answered (asking why Allah uses virgins as call girls). But I also kind of feel bad for the people who don't see the humor and who put a lot of time and effort into answering these questions. A good troll question, though, gives you a good laugh and makes you think. Isn't answering trolls just a good way to refine your own arguments?
Does anyone have any thoughts on this?

Carl S - I guess my point is basically that facetious question - either by an actual troll or by contributors like you and I - are a good thing. I was just wondering if others agreed with me, and if not, why not. The word "troll" is generally cast about as an insult, but it seems like many of us enjoy them anyway.
