It's tomorrow (March 20); Easter (April 8) is closely related.

King James Version, New King James, New International, Good News, etc, etc...

Which one is, in your opinion, the best, and why?

I really don't get the whole "religion." I have MANY MANY friends who are mormon, and i feel so bad that they have been forced into this "religion" by their parents. I really have tried to understand where they are coming from, but nothing seems to help. I keep my faith and trust in God, and i know i'll never be "converted" or anything, but i just want to see how they believe what they believe. I've heard many things of what they believe in, and none of them make sense. Many things contradict the bible, and i don't see how SO many people put their faith and trust into this "thing." I wish i could let them know about the real Jesus, God's real word, and just the truth. By the way i live in Utah, which is Mormonville if you didn't know. I just want to see how this all makes sense to them? Sorry if i offended anyone, i'm just curious.

I was wanting to know how many of you are atheists or agnostics?

I was just wanting to see how many Atheists or agnostics were on R&S right now, thank you!

To really understand a differing perspective and to see if it makes sense doesn't one have to be unbiased in his approach?

As an Agnostic-atheist I believe I'm fair when I examine what I believe with religion. I try to get a look at both sides of the fence before I make my decision.

Do you all do the same?

Smoeone does because I keep getting reported. Go check out my Q&A.(what hasn't ben deleted yet) I have been activelyy promoting tolerance. Is that a violation? It seems to be especially looking at the amount of gay bashing, anti-Catholicism, hatred towards atheists, lack of aknowledgement of polytheistic religions and agnostics, ignorance of Eastern religions, racism and everything else that happens regularly.

I don't think that either one is very believable...I mean If we all came from Africa then wouldn't we all be the same race? Can one really change their race over time? And If we all came from Adam and Eve then wouldn't we all look the same? Is any theory really worth believing in are they all wrong? I've been Doubting my Faith so much for the past month. Partly because I fell down the stairs and I woke up to prayers.....I'm confused.....Did some higher power save me or was it coincidental?

I realize there are peaceful Muslims some of whom have believed Jesus and have repented to him and been born again as he tells us to do in John 3 "Repent of your sin, and be born again, to see the kingdom of heaven."

Jesus also says "Love your enemies and do good to those who dispitefuly use you."

yet were is the justification for those who reject salvation in the Messiah Jesus and say to kill the infadels?

does the koran do away with the words of Jesus-some say the bible has been tampered with-yet Jesus says "Earth will pass away but my words will never pass away."

obviously some who follow a man who married a 9 year old little girl-in maturity compared to today 6-7 years old-may not reason properly-but even so-they say Jesus lived without sin and went to heaven and will return as the Messiah-why not believe him?

I did and prayed "Jesus I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me, be my friend, amen--he said to do this in Revelation 3:19&20

well justify?

These people will try and convice otherwise. They will say "God opens my eyes to everything" but they forget they are following blindly, all their seeing is an idea of god working though them. Ideas are powerfull things "why do you think the idea of God has stuck aroud for so long" its quite a powerfull fear, thinking that somthing is bigger than you. And i guess these people arn't strong enough to stand on their own to feet so they just submit to a higher force.

People who don't believe in God can do all the good things a christain can without believeing in him. Theres nothing great about helping others its just common sence.

Peace love and harmony can exist without God.

Which one has the WACKIEST storyline?

Xenu dropping hydrogen bombs on the Earth or the ability to make a woman out of a man's rib and Jesus coming back from the dead?

To me, I think christianity is far wackier. A space alien dropping hydrogen bombs on the Earth is far more feasible. What do you tink?

The state would not be able to promote any religion, nor would the state be able to promote the absence of religion. Would this be fair to all?

because the authors intended Jesus to be nonfiction. That is the only excuse people have been able to muster against my usuage of Obi-Wan as a superior moral compass. Fundies, I expected more imaginative lies from you.

They are both fiction. But Obi-Wan is better fiction. Maybe not better than Jesus, but certainly better than the Bible. Star Wars is filled with a greater moral message than the commands and orders given in the Bible. It's not about blood, death, and fear of God. The way of peace wins out in the end, and nobody is condemned. Honestly, any true God would create a universe more like Star Wars, with characters more like Obi-Wan.

My fiancee and I recently started going to church together. We both decided to go. However we had orginally agreed to check out a few local churches before picking one. He chose the first one and was unwilling to try anyting else. I am committed to God and want to grow spiritually, however churches usually freak me out!! People try to push you in too fast and you get lost in the shuffle. Now my fiancee is in deep and it's creating a rift between us. I thought since we started this journey together, we should work together to help one another. Well now I am completely lost and feeling resentful. I am proud of him for making such a commitment but I feel like he's not sharing his new love of the church with me. I feel like church especially our church is a private club that I will never be a member of... Now he seems to be spending all his free time at church or with church members. I understand that God comes first, but where do I fall? I am saved and bapitized by the way. Am I selfish?
