because the authors intended Jesus to be nonfiction. That is the only excuse people have been able to muster against my usuage of Obi-Wan as a superior moral compass. Fundies, I expected more imaginative lies from you.

They are both fiction. But Obi-Wan is better fiction. Maybe not better than Jesus, but certainly better than the Bible. Star Wars is filled with a greater moral message than the commands and orders given in the Bible. It's not about blood, death, and fear of God. The way of peace wins out in the end, and nobody is condemned. Honestly, any true God would create a universe more like Star Wars, with characters more like Obi-Wan.

lol...so now a moral yet imaginery being is "sick" and "a creature." This is the problem with Christianity, it is pure brainwashing.

There is no such thing as Alderaban. It's Alderaan. And worse things have happened on Earth. Considering the population percentage of Alderaan compared to SW universe, we have killed a much higher percent of humans in single battles.

Why indeed? I'd rather follow Obi-Wan. Although the "real" Jesus ain't too bad. He just didn't have a light saber.

The Jesus story was not a new story when it was told. Star wars is an old story retold too.If you read The Myths and Legends of King Arthur's Court most of the elements of Star Wars are there. As we discover more and more ancient texts the Jesus story and most of the rest of the bible show the same reliance on Older sources. William Shakespeare, Cervantes and Dante were quite open about their rewriting of old classic tales.
The same thing happens in music. try and find 3 bars that have never been played before.
Enjoy the stories. Admire the skill of the story tellers. Pay them in Gold in hopes that they will return.

Pick good old stories, change the names, change the location, change the time. reap wealth and fame.

Man, you're right. I shall dedicate myself to science in order to create a lightsaber that actually works. Then defend the peace from alien invaders, trying to abduct the people of Earth. Except maybe the fundies. I could let them slide.

And uh, people, the Bible, mind you, was written by PEOPLE. Not God himself. If the Bible's pages and cover were made of some unearthly material from Heaven, I could possibly believe that Jesus existed. But a bunch of guys wrote the Bible. For all we know, the guys that wrote it over 2000 years ago could have been drunk or lying.

Obi-Wan is Jesus do not deny this belief I have held after I saw my first star wars movie and then went to construct a shrine to his holyness because I knew he had to be god. After all how could someone that killed 5 sandpeople to save Luke Skywalker not be Jesus?! And we all know Yoda is God.

The authors of the Bible claim to be eyewitnesses to the things they wrote about. What do YOU HAVE that contradicts eyewitness testimony from 2,000 years ago?

Please show it.

If you can't disprove eyewitness testimony, then how can you state categorically that Jesus Christ is a fictional character?

BTW, you are wrong about your favorite piece of fiction as well. Emperor Palpatine was condemned at the end of Star Wars 6, as were any people (stormtroopers, etc) who stayed loyal to him. THEY DIED, remember? Even Anakin Skywalker ended up dead, the final fruit of his own actions.

Let me explain this to you: Obi is fiction, the imagination of George Lucas. Jesus is real, the Son of God who died on the cross for our sins, yes you too, so that we can go to Heaven. I think you are very, sad and sick if you honestly think a creature from a Star Wars movie, no less, is better than Jesus. May God have mercy on your soul
