These people will try and convice otherwise. They will say "God opens my eyes to everything" but they forget they are following blindly, all their seeing is an idea of god working though them. Ideas are powerfull things "why do you think the idea of God has stuck aroud for so long" its quite a powerfull fear, thinking that somthing is bigger than you. And i guess these people arn't strong enough to stand on their own to feet so they just submit to a higher force.

People who don't believe in God can do all the good things a christain can without believeing in him. Theres nothing great about helping others its just common sence.

Peace love and harmony can exist without God.

I agree and disagree...I personaly dont belive in the concept of a christian "God" I am pagan...I happily honor the earth for what I am blessed to have beacuse we do pull from the earth for all things..why do people belive in a god blindly I dont know I think people would rather have the lack of responsiblity for their lives...when god is totally in control of their lives everything that goes wrong in their lives is beacuse god is mad at them or god doesnt want to help them..they dont think to help themselves..now I am not saying that is all christians beacuse I have met one or two who question and fallow their own path along with their christian roots but they are far and few in between
also people want an explination to what happens after unstead of living their liffe to the fullest they choose to worry about what may happen after..if you are living life to the fullest and doing it with some code of honor why would you fear death it would just be another stage of the human cycle they wouldnt fear beacause they lived life they have no regrets

We are loved because someone first loved us! We love because we were fist loved by God! Even a baby will experience failure to thrive if not given it's mother's love. The concept that we are able to do great acts of humanitarianism without God is one I don't subscribe to. If you take a good look at all the great humanitarians,(e.g. Mother Teresa who gave all she had to the poor, then died with only a few material possessions) you will usually find a great conviction and compassion for others that has been put there by God. I do not think you will find a modern day humanitarian that is of the caliber of Mother Teresa who is an atheist. The concept of giving comes from the Father in whose image we are created. The very fact that even atheists sometimes posses these higher qualities, gives testimony to the fact that God exists and there is a vast gulf that exists between man and animal. This is because WE were the ones created to be like God in His image! Your argument is not a valid one! How often do you see animals who risk their lives for other animals? Or animals demanding justice for other animals? Helping others is a great thing, indeed! We are born with the tendency to be selfish and self centered but what distinguishes us from the animals and shows us to be created in God's image is our ability to love and help one another!

Luk 8:5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

Luk 8:6 And some fell upon a rock; and as soon as it was sprung up, it withered away, because it lacked moisture.

Luk 8:7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprang up with it, and choked it.

Luk 8:8 And other fell on good ground, and sprang up, and bare fruit an hundredfold. And when he had said these things, he cried, He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.

Luk 8:9 ¶ And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be?

Luk 8:10 And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.

Luk 8:11 ¶ Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

Luk 8:12 Those by the way side are they that hear; then cometh the devil, and taketh away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.

Luk 8:13 They on the rock [are they], which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

Luk 8:14 And that which fell among thorns are they, which, when they have heard, go forth, and are choked with cares and riches and pleasures of [this] life, and bring no fruit to perfection.

Luk 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep [it], and bring forth fruit with patience.

Dr. Bob, provides a marvelous factor approximately following incorrect good judgment with greater incorrect good judgment. first, don't be counted too lots on reason and good judgment, and comprehend what those extremely mean, ppl use ''good judgment'' too loosely. 2d, i might answer with a sure and a no. God would not prefer you to maintain on with blindly. he needs you to have 'faith grounded in reason', to confer with a plant you will possibly advance and nurture. although we can all have circumstances as quickly as we don't comprehend, and would desire to take that bounce of religion, like Indiana Jones interior the third action picture, :) like one person pronounced in the previous, God needs us to consistently try him. he tells us ''tutor it, tutor to your self that i'm telling the actuality." some issues won't make experience, different issues will. do no longer characteristic God to the two of those only because of the fact he's God. me being on an identical course, do no longer supply up on God or walk away thoroughly, constantly have ur coronary heart open, God forbid we are incorrect. yet possibly take a wreck, go searching at different religions and concepts obtainable. and likewise comprehend that we 'walk by ability of religion' which ability, no longer something will ever be provided to us which will the two tutor or disprove God one hundred%. he did no longer layout the international that way. and if he would not exist, then how are you able to tutor some thing like that? the absence of one concern would not entail the absence of yet another. that's the tiger rock analogy. in a room, one person holds up a rock and publicizes that is an anti-tiger rock, keeps tigers away. you ask your self how he can that and he replies, "see any tigers" (of course there is none.) be agnostic earlier going finished-blown atheist, and if ur having morality themes, then do no longer use this as an excuse to do issues ur faith says u shouldnt.

Is there a question here or just a personal observation? Obviously you have heard the story and you know what Christians believe to be the truth( which means that I am off the hook to tell you about it as far as God is concerned) -you choose not to believe it -that is your choice. I heard the story have felt God's presence, witnessed His awesome power in my life and choose to believe. My point-it's your life- live it and let me live mine. If you have a question than ask and we can have an intelligent discussion of differing perspectives but if all you're going to post are observations than what is the point?? lionjcly

If you believe following God is blind you do not understand the dynamics. No one says nonbelievers can't do good deed. Perhaps it's time to stop assuming all people who believe in God are stupid sheep with no mind of their own. You might be surprise at the number of people who actually think and reason in a church.

so you say that Peace love and harmony can exist without God? when has this ever happened? first of all let me remind you that in the USA 5% of the riches people owns 70% of all wealth and the bottom 40% of the USA population owns less than 1% of all weath (in others words they have a total equity of only $1000) does that sound like peace and love? that sound like to me that man is nothing but an greedy selfish animal to me. now i can see your point of view on religion on how some of them teach to just go to church and sing songs and shout, etc.....and you will get to heaven and do whatever you want...alot of pastor only want to teach on certain subject so they can help make people feel good about themselves and ingore issues...a nice feel good religion, but i know that the bible also teaches to meditate and change our bad ways...everything we do whether good or bad is in the mind and that is where we meditate and practice and starting changing that mindset.

Saying that something is "just common sense" is a non-point. One cannot measure the quality of morality or things that require moral nature (like peace, love and harmony) without a rule of measurement. Who decides what is right and wrong in your godless world? Whose to say that anyone's idea of morality is more correct than another? Who, other than a Perfect God, is qualified to separate morality from immorality? Your acknowledgment of morality is in direct opposition to your position of atheism.

Congratulations, your belief system is self-defeating!

are you a commedian because you are funny!

blindly? I am born a Jew taught to follow blind belief-to reject Jesus Christ the God of salvation and the whole earth- now I repented of my sins and let Him into my heart and he is my best friend-along with millions of others that have done like wise. and you say blindly lol you are funny--Jesus fulfilled messianic prophecy 700 bc-"He will be despised and rejected and lay down his life to make atonement for our sins. He will see his spiritual seed and prosper." Isaiah 52:13-53:12

Jesus is my Messiah savior and best friend-but once he was nothing to me-because I was blind but now I see.

oohh goodness i dont even know where to begin, lol.

first off... i dont believe "God opens my eyes to everything".

and i dont believe "all their seeing is an idea of god working though them"
god doesnt work though me.. or ANYONE.

"why do you think the idea of God has stuck around for so long"
because its a idea people have as to the start of our existence... and i personally believe because i FEEL there is one and to ME it makes logical sense.

"its quite a powerful fear, thinking that something is bigger than you."
and no i dont fear god...

"And i guess these people arn't strong enough to stand on their own to feet so they just submit to a higher force."
how do you figure? i dont expect god to do ANYTHING for me.. i dont pray to god to give me money... i dont think god will protect me... i dont rely on god for ANYTHING. i can take care of myself...

"People who don't believe in God can do all the good things a christian can without believing in him. Theres nothing great about helping others its just common sence."
and i agree with you a 100% on this one... you DONT need region to do good things...

"Peace love and harmony can exist without God."
yes it can.
