Are Catholics allowed in Yahoo answers?

If so why did I get 4 violations today? Anyone familiat with my Q&A knows that I actively promote tolerance. Maybe that is what is not allowed in this messed up place. Peace be with you all

You know, I just answered a 'question' that I got a thumbs down for for admitting that I'd been raped as the questioner was making a 'joke' out of it. This has gotten a little out of hand tonight. I really don't know what to think. I'll probably get the violation notice and not him.

No, it's not because you are Catholic. I think it more likely that it's my way or the hiway types who are anti tolerance, and unaccepting that there may be other ways of thinking that are just as valid....I made you one of my contacts because you come over as very accepting of others, regardless of thier beliefs... Some folks can't deal with that though... And for those of you who are coming accross as wanting to chalk it up to the "other side", meaning non-Christians, I am from the "other side", and some others posting support here as well. It's not likely because of Catholic bashing from the other side.
Maybe they should make it harder to hit that report button, and make it so that you have to send an email to customer care, and they would have to read it before they take action.
One thing about this forum, it is way more intense than the real world, people post here anonymously, and say and do things that most of them would not, if they were face to face with you out on the street.
In looking at some of your most recent questions, you have had a couple of rough days and are clearly upset, and rightly so if these reports were mean spirited or frivolous. This stuff gets really magnified out here, and when disagreements come up, they are blown out of proportion.
I would like to suggest to you, gently, and with much respect, that you could "maybe" do with a little rest, a little break to clear your head, anger clouds thinking, and posts made in anger could cause you regrets later. I'm sure you are probably holding back on the things you would really like to be saying to these folks, but it might be a good thing if you can step back, give yourself a little space, and come back to it when you have had a chance to cool down, and approach things with a little less heat. Since you always close your answers with "Peace be with you", I will close with, "And also with you".

I once received a violation notice for asking "What wisdom did you learn from your grandparents?" And over 100 others for similar questions.

I feel for you, I really do. Some nights this place is pretty respectful, but there must be something in the air because everyone's going a little mad tonight.

I know you're one of the nicer people here, and I'm sorry that you had to be a victim of this. You might want to visit the suggestions board, and send a message to Yahoo about wrongful violations. In some instances, people have had the violations removed and their questions/answers restored.

remember there ar e people who have nothing to contribute so they take instead from others what they thinnk they can take. Of course they lose as you wont have changed your beliefs. It is simply a game to some not a forum to exchnage ideas and information Probably violations should be simply stopped for everyone, excepting perhaps something outright criminal or spammers. I think I could just tolerate their hateful or ignorant views, delete them and move on. Then they would have no need to be here if they couldnt wreak havok on others accts. Is Yahoo listening here?

Hey .... what's new? I got some violations too, some people are just can't tolerate alternate views in which they can't rebut. So to end their misery, they report you as violating..... LOL.

However, I will want yahoo to point me to the clause in the terms and guidelines to which I had violated :D. (Possibly they would not have a term stating not concurring with the thread starter is a violation ..... ;P)

I know how you feel David, I had to change my id and user name because someone was reporting my questions and answers and had 15 violations in 3 days and I am a Catholic and I still reckon its because of my belief

If you will look at the top of your page, you will see that our very top answerer is a catholic. I suspect that maybe you hit a few nerves that's all. Non believers love to zap us. I have not read your answers however so I will add a little something to what I just said. If you are respectful in the way you answer, they have no reason to complain. I am assuming that you are being respectful.

I disagree vehemently with Catholicism; but, in this country you have a right to be Catholic. I wouldn't report you unless it was profanity, obscene, promoting violence , threatening or just a blatant very personal attack. Your beliefs (and mine) are fair game, though. since I haven't witnessed any of the above from you..I haven't reported you.

reporting someone just because you disagree with their beliefs is like hitting below the belt and is a cheap shot of censorship. In general...BAD FORM!

I got one for wishing everyone well on Christmas eve.

I got another for saying that God was unconditionally loving, and another for saying that God is not a big angry white guy that lives on a far off cloud called heaven.
