I am from a close hindu family and though I am still young, I find that I have no belief in close to any aspects of hinduism. I find I have to pray to these Gods like Shiva, Vishnu, extc. and listen to improbable stories from the Ramyana like flying monkeys lifting a mountain. (Sorry if I got that one wrong and sound disrespectful, I read it a while back.) But I question if they are even real or just myths/legends from long ago made up. Infact I I am sure that I can believe in no God without evidence. I am not saying there is no god(s) or there is God(s) I truly feel that I am an agnostic at heart. My parents probably would shrug or be like "That's fine." but the rest of my relatives are very religious and would probably be hurt to know that deep inside, I can't believe. How can I tell them and keep the peace without ruining the relationship? But it is so hard for me to listen to these prayers and pray when I feel nothing but disbelief. Am I being selfish and wrong want to breakaway?

I've noticed that a lot of Christians are talking about Satan being a rebel angel, about a war in heaven, about the snake in the garden of eden being satan in disguise, etc.

How many of you realise that this is not based on the Bible at all? All this is derived from Milton's epic poem Paradise Lost? Milton completely invented the idea of a third of the angels rebelling and being sent to Hell. Milton decided to present the serpent as Satan; if you actually look in the Bible, it's clear that the serpent is just a serpent.

When Paradise Lost was published, a large section of the clergy complained that Milton's work was almost entirely derived from his own imagination, and not the Bible.

However, these concepts seem to have crept into Christian dogma. It's as if people started adding elements from Lord of the Rings to their beliefs. How many Christians who believe in these things realise that a large section of their mythology is derived from a work of fiction, not scripture?

Quotations from this website ( http://www.quran-islam.org/119.html ) :

How do we know that Muslims are not forbidden to be around dogs? We look at God's word, at the Quran. In the story of the men of the cave in Sura 18, it becomes clear that God sees dogs as part of men's lives.

18:18 "You would think that they were awake, when they were in fact asleep. We turned them to the right side and the left side, while their dog stretched his arms in their midst."

Hadith tells us that angels won't enter a room where there is a dog. That means that for 309 years that the sleepers were in the cave, no angel ever entered. Yet God says "We turned them...." The use of "we" clearly indicates the participation of angels. There is absolutely no reason to mention the dog as part of this story, except to make it clear to future generation that dogs are permitted to live among people, right "in their midst." And 18:22 clearly shows that the dog was counted right along with the believers.

why do christians think they can shove thier religion down other people's throats..
why should we worship your god. why worship a god that 'loves' us enough to hurt, drownd, burn, break, & paralize us. why should we worship something that loves us enough to banish us to hell if we don't pray for him or if we deny him.

why do you think your religion is so much better that you have to convery everyone that doesnt like that religion or try to tell the adult who finally found a good religion that they are satanic and make people unhappy.
why do you call people satanic.
you say you want to save us but all your doing is bugging us.

all i've learned from christianity is that Wiccans, Atheists, Buddhists, Dryads, Shamans, Agnostics, Scientologysts, Satanists, well EVERYONE who isnt christian, are all satanic.

hmm.. im really sick of people trying to ask serious questions about their religion & all you do is trying to get us to convert. Why be so immature?
Dont even deny it, Look at the Q's

The name Friday comes from the Old English frigedæg, meaning the day of Frige the Anglo-Saxon form of Frigga, the Germanic goddess of beauty. In most Germanic languages it is named after Freyja—such as Freitag in Modern German, vrijdag in Dutch, fredag in Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish—but Freyja and Frigga are frequently identified with each other. The word for Friday in most Romance languages is derived from the name of Venus such as vendredi in French, venerdì in Italian, viernes in Spanish, and vineri in Romanian. In Hindi, Friday is Shukravar, named for Shukra, the Sanskrit name of the planet Venus.

another correction in the joseph smith translation of the bible that i agree with is the verse which says: it is better to marry than to burn.
the way this verse is seen, it reads to condemn anyone who is not married. So joseph smith made a correction which says it is better to marry than to burn (with lust).
is this a correction based on common sense or the truth spirit of god? is it true to spirit of God and correct?

in studying the mormon church, i have found many agreable teachings that are true. The first one i would like to ask about to see if people agree with the correction is Genesis 19:39 jst.
The word wickedness was added to the normal Kjv which described both the judgment of God on the acts of the daughter of Lott and rebuked the conspiracy that both daughters combined together in.
