God is a trinity which consists of the Father, The Son (Jesus), and The Holy Spirit. Each of these three are fully God. They are three separate individuals, yet there is only one God. They all work in concert with each other.
The Bible also calls the Holy Spirt the Comforter. Jesus said this about the Holy Spirit in John 14:16-17
"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you."
Jesus says this about the Holy Spirit in John 14:26 :
"But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. "
Read what the Bible says about the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. It is apparent that the Holy Spirit is not just a substance, or a force. The Holy Spirit is a person of the Godhead.

The Holy Spirit is the spirit of God and Jesus. Jesus is God in the flesh. The Holy Spirit passed over the Virgin Mary and she gave birth to Jesus. God is the Father who is Spirit, Jesus is the Son and God in the Flesh, the Holy Spirit is both the spirits of God the Father and Jesus the Son.

The Holy Spirit is actually God's substance, not a 3rd person of any trinity. We do believe Jesus is literall the Son of God because the Holy Spirit caused Mary to conceive, and not with physical intercourse. Jesus did not have a natural father.

well God did put Jesus into virgin Mary, so He must be the father. The Holy Spirit is the spirit God placed on this earth when Jesus left it, so that Just as Jesus was with us when he was here, the Holy Spirit could be with us when Jesus left. So, the Holy Spirit lives in each of us to guide us and comfort us. Just as Jesus did from the outside of us, the Holy Spirit does from within us.

Christians believe that Jesus Christ really is the Son of God.
This is proved to them by the changes their life goes through when they believed this about Him, and believe that He died for them. This statement may seem mysterious and silly at first, but because of who He is and what He did, we are able to become one with God through Him. The Holy Spirit is the part of God that dwells within those who believe this. He is the power and the proof of our faith that does the changes within us, because He is the Spirit is God within us. God is love, and it is the act of our free will to do His will, from our love for Him and others, that is the core of what Christianity is all about.

The Holy Spirit is GOD. It is the part of GOD that communicates with us, contacts us and guides us in all truth.
We believe that Christ IS GOD in the flesh come to redeem a lost and fallen world.
We see the three of them as equal parts of one whole GOD.

Who is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is God Himself as He works today in the world and in the hearts of God's people. In other words, the Holy Spirit is God's presence with us today. At one time God came to us as a man: Jesus Christ, who was God in human flesh. But now God comes to us through His Spirit, Who—although He is unseen—is just as real as Jesus was to the first disciples. Jesus promised them, "If I go, I will send him to you" (John 16:7). That promise was fulfilled on Pentecost.
Never forget: The Holy Spirit is God Himself. (This, incidentally, is why we should always refer to the Holy Spirit as "He" and not as an impersonal "it.") As such, He is all-powerful and all-knowing, and He loves us with an everlasting love. He also convicts us of sin and shows us the truth about Christ; He helps us when we pray and works within us to change our lives.
Does God's Spirit dwell in you? The Bible warns, "If anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Christ" (Romans 8:9). Make sure of your commitment to Christ—and then thank God for the gift of the Holy Spirit, who now lives within you and will help you as you submit your life to Him.
Anyone can claim to be God, but what evidence is there to support their claim? The answer is clear: None. But Jesus Christ was different, and the reason is because He not only claimed to be God, but His whole life was a witness to its truth. Because of that, He alone could truthfully say, "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30).
What evidence is there for Jesus' divinity? The first is that of His sinless life—something only God could do. The Bible says Jesus was "tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin" (Hebrews 4:15). Then there is the evidence of His miracles—miracles that demonstrated the power of God.
But the final proof of Jesus' divine nature was His resurrection from the dead. Anyone could claim to be the Son of God, but only Christ proved it by coming back from the grave—an event witnessed by hundreds. Who was Jesus Christ? He was God in human flesh—and He came into this world for one reason: to save us from our sins. Why not open your heart to Him today?
