most people today are not motivated enough to want to pray.
Their healthy, well fed, and have a comfortable home. If you suddenly had a terminal illness, or was starving to death, would you then feel more like praying. I think so. Don't wait for these events, be thankful to the lord for what you have.

praying is just like talking to a friend, except we have to respect this friend a lot more than the rest because it is God. Praying is just talking to God. It's simple. You don't need to think about it as a huge thing because then u can just get lazy (that was my problem.) If that is not the case with you, it may just be the devil making you not want to pray. To overcome him, just keep praying and God will give you the strength to pray even when you don't want to. It's a spiritual battle and God is on our side. Just make yourself keep doing it with the strength God gives you, even if you don't think He has given you the strength. God will give you the strength and overcome the devil for us.

I would respectfully suggest that you might be approaching prayer from the wrong direction. The Lord's Prayer teaches us to say, "Thy will be done." We need help in aligning our will to His.

If our prayers are wish lists, no matter how sincere and loving, we may feel let down because our prayer was that our will be done. It is not our will that matters in this life, but His. If I were you, I would go back to the basic Lord's Prayer for a while and see how you feel.

God bless.

People seem to turn to religion when things are going badly; maybe you're just happy and satisfied with life right now. I think religion just isn't a necessary part of a happy person's life, so you should spend your energy on the here and now, on making real things happen for real people. God will still be there when you need it.

There are different kinds of prayer, a kind word is a prayer, a kind deed is a prayer etc. One doesn't have to say the regular prayers to please God. Just do good amongest your fellow man!
