when i was growing up in the LDS church....every sunday we would hear stories from the congregtion about the service they performed for that week.........the little old widow that just lost her husband of 50 years, the family with 5 kids and one is mentally disabled, etc, etc. didnt matter if they were church members, and it wasnt just mormons, i would read in the paper about lutherens, catholics, everyone helping out to make the communty better....but in the last few years it seems the religion of christianity "church" has brecome focused on what to outlaw instead of who to help, unless of course they can be converted. and whats worse, is we all have to hear "god loves ME" god has a plan for MY life. and people praying for all matter of things. has anyone else noticed this shift (i noticed it a while ago and that when i left the fold, the whole paradigm of the religion shifted, fromm love and service to hate and banning stuff). am i delusional? (i already know im not)

The police found blueprints of my high school in Mark's house when they put him in jail. Mark escaped jail later. He got his friends to blow up a trash can just so he could be like, "Watch out!" A bomb or maybe multiple bombs are supposed to go off today or tomorrow at our school and this guy even had the materials to make them. So, a lot of people are skipping school today, including me, because it's not safe, but some of my friends are going and people I care about and it's making the news right now. I'm so scared. Please pray for everyone.

Isn't that sort of like saying you chose to be attracted to that man or female you see walking down the street.

You just are.

Or I chose to find this food or drink to taste good?

It just is.

It's not really a light switch where you can turn it on and off on command.

Chrisitans believe that Jesus didn't fulfill all of the prophecies about the messiah, right?

Christians say that he will fill the rest of them when he returns, right?

In Jewish prophecy is there anything about the Messiah riding a white horse, wearing a white robe stained in blood, having flames in his eyes, mashing blood out of people like a winepress and all that other revelation stuff?

Is that what we are supposed to be looking forward to according to the Jews?

If you pray about something and still feel unsettled and not good about it...does that mean it's not the right choice to make?? (ie I pray about marrying my boyfriend and feel more anxiety then peace about the decision)

if you thought of Him as a personality with thoughts and feelings? You see, He's not some force or energy with omnipotence and omnipresence, but a PERSON with omnipotence and omnipresence. So, what do you think would change if you stopped thinking of Him as an idea and started thinking of Him as a person?

Jonah 3:4 "And Jonah began to enter into the city a day’s journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown."

I saw some people say that a true prophet's predictions must always come true - but this one didn't come true - Nineveh was spared. So was Jonah not a true prophet?

If not, why?

If he still was true prophet, why?
