Because we are born with a sinful nature, inherited from Adam, and degenerating bodies. The sinful nature can be fixed now through diligent prayer & seeking truth; the body will be fixed when Christ returns.

The effects that we feel from Adam's sin are, to simplify, genetic. Jesus sacrifice made possible the redemption from our sins based on God's righteous laws. A perfect man forfeited the right to perfect everlasting life by choosing to disobey God, so a perfect man needed to willingly sacrifice his life in obedience to God in order to make things right. Now that this has been done (nearly 2000 years ago), other things must take place. Jesus was enthroned as King about 93 years ago, but he has yet to crush the governments that taint our current system. Once this has been done and all opposers have been removed, he will apply the value of his sacrifice to faithful survivors of Armageddon (as well as the countless billions to be resurrected) during the Millenial Reign. At the end of that 1000 years all who live on the Earth will have been restored to the perfect state that God originally intended for his children.

Because Adam is the corporate representative of humanity. When he sinned and became seperated from God spiritually, that nature has been passed down to every living human being except one-that is, Christ. His blood sacrifice at Golgotha provided the way for our sins to be cleansed as we confess them to the Father. The way I look at it, if it had not been Adam and Eve, it would have been someone else who disobeyed God.

Yes. Because we still have the nature of sin in us. Jesus talked about things that pertained to how easy it is for us to be driven by the 'flesh'. You can find those of Matthew 5. The Beatitudes the are called. Any one of us can easily look at ourselves as being sinning people. I'm Bisexual for instance. How far do I have to look? Not far! lol

What that does is reveal to me the state of repentance that is necessary to keep me from being proud spiritually. I do not need reminders from people, even though I still get them, it keeps me humble! lol

So with the lack of spiritual pride, I can get past the need to focus very hard at all. Where to focus on then? Jesus. He's the one that we are supposed to focus on-- the Author and Finisher of my faith. ( Hebrews 12:2)

Sin may be forgiven, but the effects can remain.

Unless you've accepted Jesus' action, you are still under the penalty of sin.

Christ's atoning sacrificial death made those that claim this death as their own righteous before God. Those that reject God's call to righteousness through Christ's sacrifice can never appear righteous before God.

In other words, a deposit has been made in the justice and mercy account of Christ that we may freely withdraw from. If we do not, then we are dead in our sins before a perfectly just God.

Jesus died because he was shooting off his mouth about having powers greater than the emperor. In that place, and at that time that was an offence that called for the death penalty.
In some parts of the world people are being done away with even now, for far lesser offences.

Jesus will take our sins, if we confess that we are sinners and ask Him to take our sins.

We don't. The atonement took care of that. We are only responsible for our own sins.

The same way we have a cure for a lot of diseases but unless you take the drug into your system it does you no good.
