The Bible says that we're all equal but then turns around and says that women are subordinate to men and have to submit.
"I suffer not a woman to teach nor to usurp authority over the man." (I forget if that's in one of the Corinthians or Timothys.)
The Bible says judge not but then turns around and encourages you to judge who to hang around with.
The Bible says that fornication is a sin but greatly emphasizes the female virginity rather than the man's.
I was raised Christian but now that I'm an adult I'm beginning to realize that a lot of my issues in life stem from my feelings of inferiority brought on my Christian institutions and ideals.
I AM NOT ATHEIST I DO BELIEVE IN GOD but sometimes I question the sources that we have here.

christians!...how do you explain the fact that there is not one, NOT ONE contemporaneous account of your lord and savior recorded by ANY known writer of that time which history tells us is many, many prominent men like pliny the elder, tacitus, josephus (his mentioning jesus in one of his texts has been proven to be an interpolation, so dont even try it) who wrote extensively about minor events and persons. how could they not know about this rock star going around the ancient world performing one miracle after another and raising people from the dead with the multitudes following everywhere he went? surely, this would have gotten some notice dont you think?...me thinks you have all been the victims of a cruel hoax. wake up and smell the frankincense!...

If it is a bizarre, outdated and violent tribal behavior, then it must be 'Old School' i.e. Pre-Jesus, therefore no longer relevant, except for the exceptions which vary by Denomination, local church and individual interpretation.

If it is 'New School' i.e. Post-Jesus, but Christians don't practice it, it's because it was only necessary to establish the Church and no longer required, so we can conveniently sweep it under the rug.

If it is Old School, but basically in line with our political goals, then it is still valid, Jesus be damned.

If it involves bizarre tribal nonsense, then it is to be interpreted allegorically, even though the original audiences would have taken it literally.

Ah, the Unchanging 'Word of God' seems to go through a lot of changes, minute to minute, generation to generation, country to country, ad infinitum.

I think the only thing unchanging about it is that it can be used to manipulate simple minded people.

Most of the faithful that I've talked to seem to think so. But then they turn around and acknowledge the fact that they chose it. They have faith and noone can know. Lawmakers, more often than not, have a gospel they read before they sit down to decide what's fair. Almost like right now, I could be influencing how you answer. Objective reasoning is a funny thing. Maybe we should be planning for an infinate future here on Earth?!

I did a Bible search on the term "Free Will" but was unsuccessful. How did religious people come to use this term? Please provide scripture evidence to support your answer. Thank you.
