What is an "atheist"?

As an atheist, I refuse to believe in gods and other supernatural entities. This can be for different reasons (lack of evidence, taking deities for absurd concepts, feeling offended by theists, or for example the difficulty to choose between the many gods offered ...). In my case, I think that the idea of a god is absurd, and I am convinced that all religious belief originates from wishful thinking, hallucination, or manipulation.

Atheism simply is a walk of life without any religion or religious doctrine and dogma. Atheism is also the disbelief of any deities. You just gave me two good ideas for questions. I hope you don't mind me following your lead but you'll see what I'm talking about. An Atheist is somebody who doesn't believe in any deities and lives life without any religious doctrines or dogmas.

Someone who excludes the possibility of the existence of God(s), usually preferring to explain the universe through science and logic instead of faith. Some are militantly anti-religion, some less so.

Atheist--A person who does not believe in a god or gods. A person without theism.

Atheist is the name given to the minority of people who keep the belief system they're born with. All others jump ship and wallow in the waters of delusional catastrophe. So Atheists are like the pirates and theists are like porpoises...ever spawning porpoises.
