It is in the bible. If you claim the bible as true then the earth is flat, and round like a pizza, with corners and heaven is stectshed over it like a tent, supported at the edges. True bible or false bible? You can't have it both ways.

Well, the map on the wall certainly is. But the globe in the pastor's office isn't so I guess we're just confused little children. We even have the mistaken belief that the universe is bigger than we can even imagine. Isn't that strange.

I would question it. Are you sure it's not just somebody trying to make them look bad. In fact it is a myth that at Columbus time they were afraid he would fall off the earth. That was an urban yth that was presented and believed as truth by many and many still don't reliaze all school of higher education knew the worl was a sphere at that time and even had estimates on its size.
