22"The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23In hell,[a] where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24So he called to him, 'Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.'

25"But Abraham replied, 'Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony. 26And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us.'

27"He answered, 'Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.'

I was raised in the Catholic church and still belong, gone to several bible studies, born again and had many awesome spiritual experiences along the way. My faith used to be extremely strong.

Now, for the past few years I have been having growing doubt. First it started with my daughter having her doubts then telling me she was agnostic. Then lately I have become disallutioned by the leaders in this country with their beliefs and idiology that I used to look up to.

Now I question what I really believe in. Is the story of Jesus raising from the dead really true? I ask myself that but I still have a little seed faith that I am clinging to that it is true. Otherwise I would not be able to stay in the church and receive the Eucharist. Maybe I should not be allowed even do that. I don't know if it is a sin to receive if I have so little faith?

When I look back I can't believe how far away I am from what I used to believe. I wish I could force myself to believe but I don't know how?

Can anyone explain to me the significance of lighting a candle in church to remember someone by. Where does this tradition come from, Is it mentioned in the bible? Is there a story to this? I would be interested to know and happy to give ten points to anyone who can shed light on this.

Im a little wasted so dont question my spelling or gramar,
you believe in god
you believe in someone who created you
im not trying to start an agrument
im just trying to make you think
are you that importaint just because you feel ow so alive that someone took the time to create you and
when you die everything is going to be perfect
like heaven
think about heaven
sounds pretty good
did you make it up in your mind
is that a place where you feel comfortable
in control
every thing is "a ok"
life is not "a ok"
life is change
life is death
life is not fair
is there no answer except within yourself?
look at what you are
who told you about christianity
who made you believe
i am not trying to give you a hard time about what you believe
i am trying to make you think
with your own mind
the christian question is
How Good Is heaven?
Is everything perfect in heaven?
Will you be safe in Heaven for ever?
Does god make you feel good?

if im stirring up contoversey
i guess someone has to

What would you call that Spark, ?
(my words mind you might not be the best description).
Some say in conception we start another life, Cells meet. multiply etc.
So what is the Start, that jump starting spark.
That goes out when we die.

I am a Christian, have an opinion on the subject, but have never studied the scriptures enough to know what the Bible actually dictates. Can anyone shed some light on that for me?

Fear of God makes one wise. I don't understand how it is that people ask questions or give answers that are so offensive to God.

Unbelievers, what if you are wrong about God? What if He gets tired of your aweful remarks and decides to make an example of you? Doesn't the thought of that put some fear in your heart and mind?

Our culture has tagged this as negative and insulting.
Can anybody think of why this is actually a beautiful word used in the above biblical quote context?
