I remember the day I saw a miracle happen before my eyes that confirmed God is real. It was the day a pastor asked me at age 10 and all the children stand up on the alter. Then the pastor told the praying church to watch Gods power fall over us. All of a sudden all of us children fell like domino's and the children in front of me fell on me. I couldn't get up! My legs tickled like when a person wakes up early in the morning, it made laugh. I remember the girl next to me, I told her to get up and she couldn't either she said it tickled her as well. We were all laughing, then the leaders came and picked us up.
Soooo how do you explain this not even science, this it was so real I promise to the lord.

I am Christian. I am not one because: a) I want to live forever or go to heaven, b) I feel "compelled" by family or friends (not at all-not one of my friends is Christian) or c) Because I am "brainwashed" to do so. I have chosen this path.

I am a Science minded person, and I am intelligent according to standardized tests. In fact, I am a Biology major. Go figure. And yet, I believe in God.

Why? Because I feel he has helped me get through rough times. And I believe I have done so with his support. I feel it. And that is my choice to believe.

So why can't others accept our beliefs without being rude and assuming? I want rational answers from non-believers, who supposedly pride themselves on being such.

Any rude or abusive comments will be reported. This is a serious question, unlike most in this category.

If John the Baptist was indeed a Baptist, which the bible clearly states he was, and he was a Baptist before Jesus gave the keys of the kingdom to Simon Peter? Would that not mean that Baptist predate the Catholic church and therefor cannot be considered part of the Protestant reformation? So even if you considered Protestants heritics, which obviously I do not, you could not include Baptist with them. Can you inteligently refute my logic? As always I promise no ugly remarks back to you and hope for the same. So what do you think?

Would God reward both of these people equally?

Jamie: She is a very successful businesswoman working for a public relations company living in a big city and she owns a nice 5 bedroom house, she owns a Lexus SC430, she owns lots of nice clothes, she gets to go to plenty of rock concerts and she also gets to go on nice vacations, plus Jamie is her own supervisor at her job.

Nick: He works at a department store and he is only making very little money and his job is going through alot of cutbacks and the management aren't giving him the hours he deserves and they don't really appreciate his hard work, plus the store manager is not a very nice person and he doesn't treat the employees what he's worth and he doesn't even help out his employees, plus Nick rides his bike to and from work and he still lives at home with his family and Nick is feeling very frustrated with his job and he wishes that he can find another job.

P.S. They're both Christians

Lets consider the mormon policy of baptism for the dead. So far they have already baptised several folk, including the pope, mickey mouse, etc. Lets say, hypothetically, that mormonism is the religion of satan and all those who become part of it go to hell.. will this mean that those who have gone to heaven, under the pretence of being christians or whatever, then suddenly God goes "oh, seems you have become a mormon, bye now" once some crazy men in Utah baptise them in the name of the mormon religion?!? is it actually legal for them to go around baptising whoever they want?

When I was a child, my Belief in God was based mainly on "tradition"...or "hearsay". I was never taught or advised to "prove" anything...to myself or anyone else. I was simply told by some elder I that Loved and Trusted, "you just have to believe"...and so I did. But what was the QUALITY of my Belief? Looking back, I can see that my "pre-awakening" belief was little more than "superstition"...which brings me to the core of my answer...

It is also prescribed to nearly eliminate the risk of osteoporosis (the brittling of bones) and reduce the chance of heart disease in women over 50.

I have heard that if you conduct a seance, and do it incorrectly, you may have evil spirits enter into our world, and you will be unable to get rid of them, is this true?

If God told you that you could do wanted (and still get to heaven), even though he didn't like sin, isn't it true all of us would do whatever we felt like, knowing we would get into heaven afterwards?

This idea would be similar to the idea that either moderate Muslims would go along with the radical Muslims if they succeeded or the moderates actually hoping the radicals take power.

With its ridiculous claims that one day will finally be universally rejected due to its pseudo-science, it simply furthers the notion that religion is based on falsehood. Therefore, it ironically destroys religion.

Please do not say your religion is the only way. Please choose one that you are not currently part of. And in your answer include the religion you belong to now, as well.

This is just a hypothetical answer. It's at least one way that people can find something positive in another religion. I'm sure most people are not planning to, nor do they ever wish, to convert. I just want to know what religion each person respects most besides their own. Or which religious philosophies and doctrines most fit with your idealogy.

Atheists/Agnostics: I realize you don't believe any are true, but just humor me here and pick the most believable one.

----------------------------------------------------------
Powerless To Fate

Powerless to fate, death lingers over her feverish soul
Slowly fading away, the black shade ensues
The final breath of life pulsates through the air
Like the cut of a knife, she separates from this world

Eternal damnation casts down its wretched claws
An incantation spoken from a serpent’s tongue
Flailing in darkness, falling, weeping, all hope erased
For this pitiable soul, bereaved is her embrace

He constraints
Spirits raped
Dark master
Let him take

Mortal crestfallen beauty
Dispatched in disarray
Swarming amongst the others
Abundant in decay

The Chinese lunar calender was implemented by the Yellow Emperor of the Yellow River civilization about 4700 years ago in 2698 BC and the Mayan calender began on August 11 in the year 3114 BC over 5000 years ago. Based on biblical geneologies and events, Christian Bible scholars date the global flood at approximately 2304 BC +/- 11 years. In addition, Genesis speaks of Noah's 3 sons as the beginning of all the nations in the world today. Japheth = Europeans, Shem = Semitic people, and Ham = recognized as African people. This doesn't account for about 2/3 of the world's population. Some religious scholars claim that the unified human language divided into at most 72 languages after the fall of the Tower of Babel but there are about 90 or more UNRELATED language families in the world today that have developed into individual sub-families and languages at least over the last 6,000 to 4,000 years. How do these existing civilizations tie into the infalible story telling of the Bible?

Many Christians (not all there are some very respectable christians on this forum - this question only applies to those that insult islam) are always insulting muslims & saying that we are all terriorists , it doesnt matter how many times I explain that not all muslims are like that & you cant blame us all for the crimes of a few & still you keep on telling me that all muslims are bad & Islam is satans religion.

After reading this link - do you think that i should label all christians for the crime of these christians priest , should also call christians disgusting names becuase these priests all over the world are committing these crimes.

If you say NO - then let me ask you this : why is okay for christians to commit crimes & people should not blame the religion but its not ok for people to seperate Islam from the crimes of a few extremist muslim.

What is America's identity? It used to be our forefathers of a great religion. Was that religion violent? Did they invade, steal, take over? Are we now paying for our wonderful forefathers history, or are we embraced by the world at large. Where has our revolving heritage brought us, who is our hero of today?
