When Jesus rose up like a balloon and floated up to Heaven, how long did it take? Ad which direction is "up" once you leave the earth's orbit?

It wasn't God the Almighty that came to earth. It was his son Jesus. Why can't you get the two straight?
It's so simple.
They are not the same person. Are you and your father the same person?
The bible says that no man has seen God at any time yet many thousands have seen Jesus. Explain that!

Ok, I'm not being a contradictory, but I need to know what’s right.......First of all, I try my best to believe completely in God and what the Bible says, but with that said I am so unsure about prophecies. It happened in Bible times, and it happens today. Some people speak about "God speaking to them" and some claim to have visions, given to them BY God. But I've also read in the Bible that prophecies are of saten...and that they're wrong, sinful and if u have them, u could be possessed by a demonic spirit.
I am just confused and need some guidance. Please don't respond if you're going to be sarcastic, nasty or try to talk me out of believing. It won't work. Thanks in advance! :)

theres no free will, theres no sadness, and no sin. your going to be forced to worship the being who killed millions, let millions of others starve, given us diseases and pain and suffering, and sent family and loved ones to hell to be tortured for eternity.

how is this any better then hell? why do i keep seeing questions about "why do non-believers want to risk going to hell..." (pascals wager), when either way its a lose lose situation.

So sometimes, when I'm terribly bored, I like watching Christian TV because it absolutely boggles my mind. So last night I'm watching some show where this lady is telling people that the ONLY way they can be pulled from life's pitfalls is to trust in God. That they weren't capable of helping themselves, and no one else can help them either. Only God could help them....?????

Isn't this kind of a defeatest attitude, and doesn't it wrongly absolve Christians of any self-responsibility when it comes to cleaning up their own messes?

Let's just say that *if I were* a Christian - I would have been offended by what this woman said. Lest we forget the old addage that God helps those who help themselves.

why did I grow up under the teachings to reject Jesus as our Messiah and that our politics support liberals who reject the bible and intelligent design. Moses taught about God designing the universe-why not believe him?

do u think life is an accident-no real purpose-today you may say the purpose of life is one thing and tomorrow another, without a relationship the the designer-we are just objects fitted to destruction.

As born Jewish I searched the Jewish Scriptures found prophecies and came to believe Jesus is our Messiah, but the next step was to believe what He said and let Him into my heart to be my best friend and good shepherd, my Messiah and savior.

He spoke from heaven and said -I knock on your heart, repent from your sins, I love you as you are, let me in and I will be there to help you, as your friend. Revelation 3:19&20

so i prayed "I am sorry for my sins, come into my heart and help me and be my friend, amen. "

why do u reject or accept intelligentDesign

Growing up, I was constantly reminded of how worthless I was. Nothing I did was good enough. In fact, while tests showed nothing abnormal, I was told by my father that I was born defective. Living with that over my head affected how I grew up.

Not only was I derogated while growing up, but I was put down for my actions. Yeah, I should be spanked for stealing. But for speaking out against my father. I couldn't even say that my friend's father was better, because my own father threatened to punish me for thinking that.

My father demanded unconditional love from me. He said that if I loved him, then I would not speak ill of him. He said that if I didn't love him, then he would punish me. I had to lie about loving him so I would feel safe.

Since then, I moved out. I don't consider going back to my father after all his threats. My brothers still live under his roof and don't even see how dangerous he is. They love him where I left off.

Is such abuse acceptable?

In the book of Job chapter 40, God talks about the behemoth, which very accurately fits the description of "dinosaurs." It says that the behemoth's strength is in his loins, that he moves his tail like a cedar and that he is the chief of the ways of God. Leaving aside dinosaurs, do you know any creature which has a tail like a cedar?
