Narnia has supernatural creatures and magic in it, too! Also, Christians should be upset about Aslan because He's doesn't act like God does in the Bible (in the Bible, God is nasty and cruel, whereas Aslan is really good... I read the whole thing and can't remember anyplace where Aslan acts unjust or unfair like God does repeatedly in the Bible!) If the Christian God ACTUALLY behaved LIKE ASLAN, I'd worship Him...

If there is a God, why doesn't God come down to earth and tell us that we need to worship God?

Don't give me some reason like, "It's written in the bible" or "Muhammed says,....".

Paul Simon sang in one of his songs "faith is an island in the setting sun, Proof is the bottom line for everyone." Well, I need proof that.....

1) God exists.
2) God wants me to worship her.
3) Worshipping this God character is worth my time.

I mean, chicken broth technically doesn't have meat in it, it is just water that had meat cooking in it.

So can I eat, say, soup with chicken broth but no chicken in it?

If God destroyed the Tower of Babel, and gave everyone different languages because their tower was getting too close to Heaven, why is there no big problem with air or space travel?

When Christians attribute all kinds of evil acts and thoughts to God, aren't they slandering His good name whether they mean to or not? For example, when they say he ordered the deaths of innocent children in the Book of Joshua, or when they say He'll send decent people to Hell just because they weren't able to believe the story of Adam and Eve... If I were God, I'd be mighty pissed off at the way they've characterised Me! Aren't the Christians worried about what God is going to do to them when He shows up?

This is kind of related to my last question about the scripture where Paul talks about those who are Baptized for the dead.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070301073544AAC0uiO&r=w

Someone mentioned the scripture 1 Peter 4:6. It reads:

"For this reason the gospel was preached even to those who are now dead, so that they might be judged according to men in regard to the body, but live according to God in regard to the Spirit."

Can you die without becoming a Christian, then become one after you die? Or is he talking about the gospel being preached to those who are "spiritually" dead??????

My mother-n-law is one and will only tell me that they do "religious ceremonies", so now I'm very curious as to why she is so vague.

It's so obvious. God gave us dominion over all beings to do as we please and to ensure our gluttony and comfort. Why then do some squeamish members of species homo sapiens prefer to massage sandalwood paste on a sitting bull in midst of Chandni Chowk instead of turning it into instant Prime Rib? The orient and far east are far evolved and pragmatic in this respect feeding on species that not only roam the land, air and sea but even those that remain suspended in trees or burrowed deep underground. What can the animals do? Does the chicken curse us when we grab its egg from its warm fuzzy feathers and turn it into an omellete instead of letting the egg fulfill the maternal instincts of mama chicken? Does mama cow object if her nipples are squeezed day after day and the resulting lactate fed to salivating humans instead of starving bovines? Why then worry and spare the succulent flesh of such diverse life forms when God has clearly given us dominion over them? Are vegans misled zealots?

There are thousands of entities all of which are supposed to be God. If you decide that you will believe in only one of them and disbelieve in all the rest, then you will have made yourself thousands of enemies.

The atheist will be in a safer position. He has just withheld judgment on the existence of these gods, all of them. They will be majorly P.O.'d at the believer who insists that only one of them is worth believing in and thereby insults all the others.

So Pascal's Wager, carried to its logical conclusion, calls upon you to disbelieve in all gods. That's a lot safer than believing in only one of them and dissing all the rest.

I was thinking today as i looked out the window of my office, that the there is a man i see everyday standing outside of his office next to us, and he looks so peaceful and satisfied, that when i don't see him, i miss him, although i have no idea who he is. The thought of his peacefulness made me happy. weird right? i know. but still i thought it was nice and i would share.
