proverbs 29:15 The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.
To me this is saying that you have to beat your child to give wisdom.

I am a firm believer that catholics as well as all denominations of christianity are one in the same religion with some different traditions and customs. But we all worship the same God who sent his son down to earth etc... you know the rest of this amazing story.
My question to catholics is, on what basis do you pray to Mary and other saints? I don't see any evidence of the disciples or anybody else doing that after jesus death in the new Testament. No where does God ask us this of his followers in the Bible. Do you think that God cannot handle all the prayers and requests we as a human race have, so that he needs help with them?
I apologise if this comes across as a condescending question, I only ask this out of pure curiousity.

I'm interested in learning other peoples viewpoints of this important scripture. Mine is thus: The blood Christ spilled upon Mount Calvary he did not receive again into his veins. That was poured out, and when he was resurrected, another element took the place of the blood. It will be so with every person who receives a resurrection; the blood will not be resurrected with the body, being designed only to sustain the life of the present organization. When that is dissolved, and we again obtain our bodies by the power of the resurrection, that which we now call the life of the body, and which is formed from the food we eat and the water we drink will be supplanted by another element; for flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God [see 1 Corinthians 15:50] (DBY, 374).

And I don't want any "Well everybody knows Jesus never rose....." or "Show me a miracle and I'll believe he rose from the dead!" or "Jesus is stupid" Because right now we've got a whole lot of die hard (literally) eye witnesses on one side claiming they saw this guy walking around. And I don't know of any eye witnesses claiming that they toted his dead body through the streets to stop the Christians from spreading lies of his ressurection. I want answers that include historical documentation, it's 2000 years later now and speculation isn't going to get us very far unless it's based on something from that time period.

If you were ever actively involved in church, how long did you attend and/or study the bible?

What denomination were you?

Did you ever hold a position in the church?

My answers:
I went to church 5 times per week only missing a handful of times in 15 years. I mostly attended Southern Baptist churchs, but I also went to a few non-denoms as well. And confession time: I was the women's pastor for three years.

How about you?!?
