in God for all your life. Then maby a year before you pass you stop believing. would God forgive do you think?

God would forgive you if you asked Him to. He is a faithful and just God.

It's a big theological question - many christians are divided on the issue of "once saved, always saved".

But, in the hypothetical, if you reject God you reject His forgiveness. You reject His forgiveness, then you can't be forgiven... and yes, you would, theoretically, lose your salvation.

if there really was a god, why in the world would he care if I believed in him or not. he obviously didn't give me the information that I needed to believe in him, so it's his own fault and he should send himself to hell.
