Not believing in god is as much a belief then not believing. Yes people need hope and they need all loving god to live in peace. You don't? Are you better then most people? All it is, is that you guys have big egos, "i don't need hope!", i am not weakling like others. Those trains of thought sound familiar? Deep subconsciously you probably think that way. That is your way to blame your unhappiness and give excuse to why you are such a failure. There are many ways to be better then someone else, for you it is laughing at believers.

But did it ever cross your mind to ask why they believe? Did it ever cross your mind that people are not stupid at least some aren't.

Mythology in those books is not meant to be taken literate. Have you tried to read between the lines? Try reading one of holy books
and seeing the message behind the stories.

I mean I have heard alot of Critisism on this subject in the last few days. How many people are actually planning on watching this? And how can anyone make judgements about it if it hasn't even been shown yet? www.pathofreason.com has a really good viewing guide for people who want to watch it with an open mind.
Do people really think this stuff was just made up to mess with Christians? I think that people have much better things to do with their time.

A little boy was overheard praying: "Lord, if you can't make me a better boy, don't worry about it. I'm having a real good time like I am."

After the christening of his baby brother in church, Jason sobbed all the way home in the back seat of the car. His father asked him three times what was wrong. Finally, the boy replied, "That preacher said he wanted us brought up in a Christian home, and I wanted to stay with you guys."

3-year-old Reese: "Our Father, Who does art in heaven, Harold is His name. Amen."

One particular four-year-old prayed, "And forgive us our trash baskets as we forgive those who put trash in our baskets."

A Sunday school teacher asked her children as they were on the way to church service, "And why is it necessary to be quiet in church?" One bright little girl replied, "Because people are sleeping."

A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin 5, and Ryan 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, 'Let my brother have the first pancake, I can wait.' Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!

A father was at the beach with his children when the four-year-old son ran up to him, grabbed his hand, and led him to the shore where a seagull lay dead in the sand. "Daddy, what happened to him?" the son asked. "He died and went to Heaven," the Dad replied. The boy thought a moment and then said, "Did God throw him back down?

My Boyfriend is Christian and I am not, he doesn't try to force his superstitions on me but the other day we were talking about future children and it made me really think. I believe in free will, therefore I feel if we are going to teach our kids about religion they have to learn and understand all religions before they can choose. He on the other hand thinks that the only religion they need to know is Christianity. I told him that indoctrinating our kids with only one point of view is not free will but he disagree's. What do you all think? Is it better to show all points of view before letting the child decide or do you think its better to just push one point of view on them?

Think of water.

Water is made up of 2 parts hydrogen....and 1 part oxygen. Obviously, we all know that as H2O.

When you freeze water, it becomes ice.....but yet...it is still H2O.
When you boil water, it becomes steam...but yet....it is still H2O.
When it's just plain water...guess what? It is still H2O.

You can change water into 3 different elements (solid, liquid or gas)....but it's root elements remain the same (H2O)
This is the closest and most accurate way I know how to explain one God co-eternally existing in 3 distinct persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

I didn't make this up....I got it off of a great website (soulright.com).

I can hardly wait to hear the critic's thoughts on this one......

Do you know where there is a genealogy record for the Bible that is online and I can print. I have found an excellent one but it is a gif file and unfortunately it will not print because it is to large. I am looking for something similar to this:
http://www.d.umn.edu/~jbelote/bible2.html

but perhaps in text or excel format so I can print it out and reference it while I am reading the Bible.

Thanks =)

"He will be made very high (the Messiah). First he will be marred more than any man. He will grow up as a tender plant. He will lay down his life as a lamb, to make atonement for our sins. He will be despised and rejected. He will die with the wicked and be burried with the rich. He will see his seed and prosper."

Why is this prophecy still in Jewish Scriptures? Some of my Jewish people and most Muslims say they believe the Jewish Scriptures, yet do not believe what the Scriptures say.

where is your forgiveness of sins? Is God a liar and Isaiah who predicted/prophecied this 700 years before Jesus came and perfectly fulfilled this and offers to come into our heart and make us His seed=John 3 spoken to a Rabbi-Jesus said "Except you repent and be born again you can not see the kingdom of heaven."

Is Jesus your Messiah? Or are you ready to go to hell Daniel 12:2 Rev.19-22 rejecting his salvation? To miss the joy of salvation and heaven with Messiah your best friend.
Why?

your 3-headed, "triune" god any different than they? -- In reference to the Christian god, yes.

How do you know that Amon-Ra isn't the one true God? How can you be certain that Anubis won't be the "judge" of your souls, in the Halls of Osiris?

Wouldn't that mean that the future became the past?

If he knows the future..., wait, thats totally illogical...!!!

How can God have a future (that hasn't happened yet) that he knows about? That doesn't even make sense.

To God, only the past is possible, perhaps?

If God has seen all, knows all, nothing new under the sun exists to God, then only the past is possible to God.

Let me explain: The future doesn't exist to God (because he has already lived it and knows everything that is gonna happen, making it the past to God)

The present does not exist to God (because he has already lived that too, remember, nothing new under the sun to God. (So what we would consider present & future, has already been seen/lived before by God, making every moment in history, past tense to God, who already knows what will happen.)

This means, everything has already been planned out, there are no surprises to God?

Even more amazing, God only lives in the past?

Your thoughts, please!

instead of interpreting their holy book, and using it for it's intended purpose (insight, and the will to use your mind) people will actually think that david slayed a 20 ft giant, instead of thinking about it and putting it in terms of "how could i view this, and what might have actually happened?"

people had a tendancy to exagerate back then, look at the egyptians, if a pharoh was good, he was pronounced a god, if a pharoh was bad, he was a sent from the gods as a punishment

..................i need some insite, why is the bible considered a documentary, and no bull**** faithful christians feeding me a line of "it's a miracal of god"

I had a burglary at Christmas time, in which everything got stolen. When the police knocked on my neighbours' opposite to ask if they'd seen anything, they said yes they'd seen 2 boys, but were too scared to tell the police. I have felt quite bitter towards these neighbours (they don't speak a lot of English and I feel they should have told who the burlgars were, as they could have remained anonymous) and now this neighbour has called at my door asking me (I managed to get the jist of it) to take her and her son see the doctor (as her little boy's unwell). Like a good christian I try to be, I have agreed, but I still feel angry towards them. How should I handle this?

This seems absurd, as nobody could read at the time, plus everybody in the Middle Ages already believed in God anyway. It must have something to do with their own philosophy and how they consider these proofs. Why were they written? I have to write a paper about it and few literature is known. Thanx for any help in advance!
