instead of interpreting their holy book, and using it for it's intended purpose (insight, and the will to use your mind) people will actually think that david slayed a 20 ft giant, instead of thinking about it and putting it in terms of "how could i view this, and what might have actually happened?"

people had a tendancy to exagerate back then, look at the egyptians, if a pharoh was good, he was pronounced a god, if a pharoh was bad, he was a sent from the gods as a punishment

..................i need some insite, why is the bible considered a documentary, and no bull**** faithful christians feeding me a line of "it's a miracal of god"

The Bible shouldnt be taken too literally. 20 foot giant is a hyperbole (I think). There are many figures of speech in the Bible.

I will answer you and if you listen, it will open up a whole new understanding of the Bible.

Alot of people take up the Bible and read it as if it were simply just another book. It is not.
Most people in this day and age read it with the atitude of not believing. Or, most likely in your case, judging the book, instead of allowing it to judge you.
And that is precisely the problem I see most people around me have...they judge the book, whether or not to believe it, instead of THE REAL purpose, which is to let it judge them.
It is all in how you approach it.
Please consider this possibility.

Holy Books can be both a Documentary and a revealer of the truth.

1 John 1

1 We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,[a] whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. 2 This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us. 3 We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. 4 We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.[b]

P.S. NO need to get nasty !!!!!!!

The bible is the source of spiritual insight for me

You tend to insult and accuse GODso you cannot understand the complexity of his nature.

That was how people told stories back then. None of it was true. The Bible is no more true than the Iliad and you can learn as much from either.
