your 3-headed, "triune" god any different than they? -- In reference to the Christian god, yes.
How do you know that Amon-Ra isn't the one true God? How can you be certain that Anubis won't be the "judge" of your souls, in the Halls of Osiris?

Yeah, no sh!t I don't believe in Amon-Ra or Anubis. My point is that you people profess a mythological, 3-headed, triune deity. Same difference as the aforementioned mythologies.

Only certain Christians believe in the trinity. To answer your question, no other 'god' has had the impact on humans than the Christian God. (in the western culture, not to generalize). They have not lasted beyond their civilizations. However most christians do incorporate these 'gods' into christianity by turning them into saints. The patron saint of the sea is St. Nickolas to the Orthodox (Greeks) which is just another name for Poseidon. Some people still need to feel a great variety of deities. It is very interesting though, and you might want to look this up, that during the period of Olympian Gods--the Bible states that angels came down to earth and mated with human women. I believe they were called Nephelim. I'm not sure. But the children of the Nephelim were very powerful, and could in fact be Olympian Gods, and heroes. It is an interesting connection.

It is kind of a paradox, because you must have the eyes of Truth illuminated so you can reconize the truth when you see it. The religious gods of history were created by minds that were in need of a god. Since the truth of God was not avalible without the anointing of the Holy Spirit that came to Pentecost when Jesus departed, they could only be creative. It was the True God that sent His Holy Spirit and with that came gifts. When you get the baptism of the Holy Spirit, one of the great aspects of that gift is discernment. With discernment from God you will know what is truth and what isn't. It does no good to argue the point with someone that does not have the gift of discernment in them because it is like trying to see the forrest for the trees. When you accept the mind of Chrst that comes with the package, it enlightens you to the all knowing. There are many close to truths out there that have been counterfited. All things that are not of God are a false reality, so they may fit the truth mold for a moment, but they will not maintain you. It takes you jumping through constant hoops to even stay near the moment of truth. With God you simply surrender all of your mind and have it replaced with a mind that understands all things. This can happen on a day to day basis by renewing of your mind. You get the mind of Christ when you accept Jesus as the saviour of your soul. So what you are doing is dying to the old self daily and letting God form in you the person that was actually created in the spirit before the foundation of the World.

First try to think of the trinity the same way you think of our solar system. There are three distinct parts, making the one whole part. Instead of 1+1+1=3 use 1x1x1=1. The other is purely faith based. If one really searches ancient religions, you will find the oldest religions recorded were monotheistic (one God) recorded in Ancient Iraq and Samaria. Basically the beginning area of known life and origination of the Hebrew and Arabic peoples

primoa1970: The Holy Spirit is just your inner conviction in your beliefs. All followers of religions have this. They "know" they are right, just as you "know" you are right. And YOUR scripture says he's the only god. Other scriptures disagree. So now you need to explain why your scripture has divine origins. But since you're using scripture as proof of god, you're now not allowed to use god as proof of scripture.
To answer the question, all gods are equally unlikely.

First of all, He's not a 3 headed God.....He is One God....eternally existing in 3 distinct persons....
Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
Scripture...along with the Holy Spirit tells me that all other so-called gods are fake. There is only one God....and His name is Yahweh.
Edit:
Scripture has been proven over and over again to be legit and God-breathed.....and God's Holy Spirit tells me so as well. I trust in the living God who speaks to my heart every day. There is only one God.......and His name is Yahweh....you either believe that now...or pay the price later.
