No! Youth need to stay the hell away until they are old enough to make their own decisions! Putting religion in school is about the worst thing you could do.

Religion has no place in public schools. If you want to ship your kiddo off to a private school, where they can talk about god and Jesus until they are blue in the face..but That stuff has nothing to do with what they learn in school. Jesus won't help you learn multiplication...

If your family goes to church on Sunday, that should be good enough..and when a child hits a certain age (middle school) and they decide that they don't want to go anymore, I really think the parents should respect that. Christianity isn't for everyone, and its not the only and right religion...Let kids explore and find something that fits them..when you shove stuff like that down their throats, that is when they start to rebel and you get all the little trolls on this sight starting crap with the Jesus lovers...

Much agreed! As an educator, my heart goes out to today's students because - for the most part - religion in general has been removed from the school systems. However, no secular authority can govern a student expressing their faith. Therefore, Christian students must step up to the plate and accept the responsibility of being living examples in their schools and communities. Participating in organizations, such as Y-Club, is a great way to spread the message of Christ by being a living example of His teachings.

Keep your religion to yourself and in your church and home. If religion wants to become more of a voice then they need to start to pay taxes. We need to keep teaching kids that religion is a multi-trillion dollar per year business and it has been used throughout history to control the minds of the masses. Show the kids what religion really is about, how would you like that?

No. But people do need more charity work, in fact being a community volunteer should be required for passing each grade of school. People need to learn about responsibility and how life is not fair and nothing will ever be handed to you. Hard work will get results, being lazy will not.

I think all religious philosophies should be taught. There are some good philosophies found in all of them. Not just one select version. The more a person is taught, the more informed they'll be and better able to make an informed decision.

I almost reported you because you didn't even ask a question.

But I decided to use this space to give you a Question to ask and answer yourself.

Why target children? Do you think that if they are not taught as children they will never believe? Why is that?

No. All religions are biased towards their beliefs. The poor kids wouldn't be seeing both sides of any argument.

Never. Religion causes hate, bigotry, racism, homophobia, anti-semetism, sexism, and war.

It should be banned from the Universe - least of all in classrooms.
