God is a spiritual being used as a tool for mind control, just like satan and hell.(i believe in god, but not satan) God did not create the bible, humans did. and humans that came up with religious rules claimed they got it from God. but they are blinded by their faith.
If you want my opinion. Noone should tell you how to worship God. You can worship Him in anyway you want. You are a person not a robot

Evidently, from all of the myriad religions in the world and endless opinions/variations on the nature of God/gods, he/she/it/them is ultimately whatever we want he/she/it/them to be and is a reflection of the mentality, psychology, values and culture of whatever person or society created that version of he/she/it/them.
For me, as an agnostic, I really have no idea, and that's the honest answer. I'm hoping that whoever or whatever it is has the love, forgiveness, tolerance and understanding to hopefully match the limitless intelligence and power that the creator of all would need to have.
In the end, they truly are, as your question states, opinions. The fact that we fight with, argue with , kill, conquer and try to control others who don't agree with our opinion is the height of insanity. Believe what you will believe, gather whatever comfort and wisdom/insight/guidance you can gather from whatever you believe and let everyone else peacefully do the same.

The universe is complex and probably required a Creator. But which one? It seems that all cultures throughout human history have recognized the role of a Creator God.
The Creator defined by the North American Native Americans only asked that humans live in harmony with all nature. In exchange, the Creator provided plants and animals for humans to use as food, clothing, shelter, and medicine. Early Native Americans showed their respect and appreciation to the Creator by making small offerings of tobacco.
The Creator God defined by Hebrew scholars, 6000 years ago in the Middle East, was a jealous, and often cruel God. He demanded that humans make sacrifices of animal blood in order to appease Him, and set out Old Testament laws of behavior that often required the stoning-to-death of your neighbor for sins as minor as eating shell fish or working on the Sabbath. These laws remained in effect for over 4000 years until Emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire and commissioned the first Bible from a collection of Hebrew scrolls and stories of Jesus. Religious scholars of today claim that the Old Testament God decided to change his original requirements for animal sacrifice and for stoning-your-neighbor-to-death for disobeying His written laws. This God, rather than having his human scribes re-write the laws on new scrolls, he decided to have His only Son sent to earth to be tortured and murdered.
I believe there is a Creator God. I just believe that his personality is more like the compassionate Creator God of the early Native Americans. If He turns out to be the cruel Middle Eastern God, and He throws me in Hell for thinking He is more loving than He really is, then I’m willing to accept with that fate.

Geez. so many one-sentence, cheesy sunday school answers.
I'll define him as best as I can. God is an all-powerful being that created and rules over the earth. He created man in his image and wants to have a loving relationship with him. He gave man free will because if he had created things that would love him no matter what, that would be meaningless. He wants us to choose to love him. Man, of course chose to sin. God is perfect and cannot be with sin. nor can he love us any less, even though we sin. So he sent his son Jesus, a perfect, sinless sacrifice, to pay for our sins so that we can spend eternity with him.
God sees everything. God knows you, and he wants you to know him (cool, huh?).
The proof of God is everywhere. Think about this. How crazy is it that i'm looking out the window at droplets of water floating in the sky! Right now we are both sitting on a huge ball of rock spinning on its axis at a thousand miles an hour, this ball is orbiting a huge flaming sphere 93,000,000 miles away, precisely the right distance to keep us warm without frying us to death (with the possible exception of Florida, it is HOT down there.) and some people believe that this all happened by an accident! Just think about some of the things we take for granted, and you'll see that there has to be a creator.
Contrary to popular belief, God wants us have life and have it to the full. He has two main commands: Love the LORD your God, and Love your neighbor as yourself. they aren't to get in the way of our fun; they're just saying, "you know, i think it'd be better if you didn't kill each other. Would you like it if that guy over there killed you?" And if everyone lived by those two rules, how great would the world be?
God knows that it's impossible for us to follow those rules all the time because of our sinful nature passed down from Adam, but he forgives our sins through the death of his son, Jesus. We can now strive to be like Christ out of thankfulness, not out of guilt, and we can be assured of eternal life when we die.

Their are many gods, and many interpretations of god, but the only god that would have any validity would be a God that is
1. living
2. created all things
3. created us in his own image
4. has the power to save
This God is outlined in the Old and New Testaments. He is the God of the Hebrews. All other gods are false gods without any ability to save you or do anything for you.
