Recently someone brought to my attention, a simple yet complex question. The question was, "How does the Electoral Process works, vs. the Popular vote?" Well we went through the usual, the voting population of each state, combine their votes to a certain number at which time an electoral vote is place, based on the population of the state. This provides a fair playing field for states with a small population.
Then he said, "Then why is that if we take the combined popular vote of each election of the people without their state representation being involved: why is it that the popular vote seems to win and thus really represents the voice of the national people, without state representatives. I quickly thought of the Articles of Confederations. What do you think is correct. Has our combined voice really been muted due to our state representative voice? Or has the state always represented the best interest of it's residents?

I know 100% that if I knew a man who could walk on water or even just turn water into wine before my eyes, that would be all I need. Why were our ancestors so dumb? I mean why didn't He wait until we were ready to see His will? I wish I lived in the time of christ thats for sure, maybe we wouldn't be in such a predicament if our ancestors hadn't screwed us over.

In another word, why God does not allow himself to be detected by scientific instruments, so we can easily turn non-believers into Christians? Thanks.

Christian people say that jesus was the son of god, or sometimes god himself, he died for the people's sins.
Muslims(like myself) say that jesus wasnt the son of god, he was a man sent on a mission by god; that god wasnt born from someone as well as he doesnt not have chidlren. And God did not let him die, he pulled him up to heaven because god wouldnt let anyone harm his messenger. And u have to die for ur sins, not someone else i.e jesus.

I was not raised under any particuar religion, my stepmother being an atheist and my father being a Lutheran who doesn't follow it very strictly. So, I am confused about many Christian things. Many ppl will tell me many different things. I would like to be Christian, but some things truly do not make much sense. Can someone explain to me why the LORD would sentence anyone to eternity in Hell if he loved them so much??? If they truly beleived in Him and loved Him, but they were confused in life and made bad decisions, I do not understand why he would send some one that he loved so to such a terrible and unbearable place as Hell for eternity. I don't think that an eternity in Hell is a reasonable punishment for only a lifetime of bad decisions. A lifetime is only about 70 years, and eternity is forever. Why would the LORD punish those he loved so harshly? I thought that GOD was reasonable and loving, is He not? If so, then why an eternity in Hell, for any sin?

Ask yourself, is the following Ficiton or Non-Fictional:
Las Vegas, NV 2007, there is a master mind of the worst kind lurking the city. He has amassed an army of tweeker (crystal meth addicts) that are zombie like in their thought process and actions. Like an army of ants they believe in his every word and attend to him without a second thought.

He desires to capture the great minds and spirits of those who would not find themselves addicted to his spell binding meth. He has devised a potion, whereby he has his tweeker soliders befriend an innocent, and they slowly place the meth in the water of the innocent: he hopes that through this continuious slow usage, he can convert the great minds and spirits of innocent souls, which he needs. He needs them to run and operate his probotnic Mango Drink, which is currently not FDA approved, for any organic manufactuers of this type of product. What do you believe, Fiction or Non-Ficitonal.

I know us atheists will give the Wager a hard time. Because with our current understanding and knowledge it is like shooting fish in a barrel. But I thought, poor Blaise, he was a scientist and a genius mathematician.

He made important contributions to the construction of mechanical calculators, the study of fluids, and clarified the concepts of pressure and vacuum by generalizing the work of Evangelista Torricelli. Pascal also wrote powerfully in defense of the scientific method.

But I will remember him most for this quote:
"Men never do evil so completely and cheerfully as when they do it from religious conviction" (of course, he said it in French).

So while I don't really have a question I would have us atheists remember who Blaise Pascal was, even as we are completely demolishing his outdated wager.

Just saw a related question. Many responses were that people are born gay. What is the basis for that conclusion? What evidence, valid studies, etc. I once read an article about a study in England on identical twins. I don't remember the number of twins they studied, but the upshot was that one twin was gay, the other wasn't. If they are identical, then apparently it's not something in genetics. So again, what would be the basis. Only serious answers please.

I need an intelligent answer about lightworkers and darkworkers. If you read the last 2 or 3 blog entries on stevepavlina.com it will explain what i mean by lightworker and darkworker. I want to know if you know which one you are, and how you reconciled the other within yourself so that you could live fully as the other. I'm at the point where the time is coming for me to align myself with one and any advice you have is greatly appreciated. Much thanks for any insight.

Before you read this question, Please dont insult someones religion, and tell them ur faith is the best etc. Calmly and Logically explain what u believe. Lets debate brothers and sisters from all religions.

I am not sure how any human in this life can be 100% sure there isnt a God. Where is the proof? Ahiests supposedly take pride in science, math, physics, and history, but yet all these fields (&common sense) support Gods existance. Here are brief reasons why.
HISTORY : History scholars agree that the bible is very accurate on it historical accounts regarding, rise & fall of empires, destruction of cities, natural disasters, people, geographical areas, astronomy, etc. If you dont take my account start watching the History Channel and your bound to see some proof
PHYSICS: Energy can NOT be destroyed only transformed. Since the human body is an enormus energy source, once a human dies, the energy doesnt just dissapper. Thus, life after death is possible.
MATH: Prophesies in the bible make it 1 in 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 that Jesus wasnt Jesus. check out the book The Case for Christ.
COMMON SENSE: Whats makes more sense we came from nothing or we came from somthing?

Keep in mind that before Islam, Egyptian civilizations made many significant discoveries. Also, pagan tribes of the region, before Islam, bestowed substantially greater freedoms upon woman and even had woman leaders.

I believe the middle east might have been one of the most diverse, prosperous and advanced places in the world today if Islam never overtook its inhabitants. Being the earliest birth place of human civilization, and factoring in the massive achievements of the egyptians as a people, it only stands to reason that such a people would have been wildly successful.

Deviod the suffocation of Islam, lateral trade and cultural exchange would have been exponetially higher and technologies invented outside the middle east would have been intigrated immediately (as opposed to demonized) so that no lag would have occured. This of course assumes a relatively free system existing absent Islamic totalitarianism.

without forcing your own opinions on them, and let them decide for themselves if they want to follow the Bible and take it as truth, how many do you think would do that?
Probably close to none, because the things in the Bible have been proven wrong and they no longer apply to today's society.

It is only with the forcing of religious belief upon children that we have the continuation of religion.
