If god did everything for us to "prove" that he existed then we would become complacent and start to think that he isn't real. If he just did nothing for us and there was no magic or beauty in the world, then people would lose faith. The reason, I feel, that science will never be able to prove god is that human beings don't really want to. It is our nature to go against the accepted and try to find answers for our selves. And god is ok with that. That is FREE WILL. No amount of preaching or throwing the "good book" at someone or scientific proof will ever be able to truly turn non-believers if they don't want to. and that is one of the most wonderful things about him, her, they or it. It doesn't matter what you have faith in, as long as you have faith.

Why would science dedicate itself to this cause? The Bible disproves the existance of God more substantially than any secular science might do. The problem is that nobody actually reads the Bible, one would assume the use of intellect and reason in the process of "reading"; the opposite occurs, they have to ignore vast sections of it to retain any sense of sanity and the remainder they have to inject incredible prejudice into the text's "true" meaning, this process is called "faith".
If there is a God we all better pray that he's not the one described in the Bible. Yahweh has the manners of a spoiled child, engaging in multiple mass murders, exterminating the bulk of the planet (Noah), commanding you to murder to children if they don't obey you and murder any "non-believers" that attempt to sway you (deuteronomy), to kills all of the fags 15 times (9 times in the OT and 6 times in the NT), how about free will from God (buy a Chevy and you go to heaven which according to Christ is like having 10 virgins or you can buy the Ford and spend an eternity trapped in a fireball) some choice...I think I'll buy the Chevy...duh. God in his infinite wisdom created light before the light producing objects, and produced the plants before there war sunlight to drive the photosynthesis process and best of all we learn from the OT that "God is stronger than an unicorn"; imagen that, one mythical figure being stronger than another one!!!
My favorite is that Jesus proclaims multiple times to his audiences that he will be returning in their lifetimes (not in his lifetime as so many Christians apologists try to deflect) the remaining comments by Christ are that he will be returning soon or on the "nigh" which in those days meant really soon like...next week. Christians are still waiting after 2,000 years for his sudden return...only true morons could engage is such belief systems of farce.

God would never allow Science to "Prove" his existence. This goes against the highest principle of Christianity, that is Faith.

If Science would produce God in a test tube, then God won't be 'God.'
You know there's a God because of the things and happenings around you but proving may be scientifically difficult..or maybe not. Scientists have never seen a quark but they believe it's there. So?

If God existence could be proved then people wouldn't have any faith. according to most Christians faith is believing something when there is no proof. So if people knew God was real they wouldn't need any faith.

Probably not. Most people believe what they want to. Jesus said in a parable that people would not believe even if someone rose from the dead.
There is no scientific proof for evolution, and look at how many people believe in that.

You can prove the existence of God right now. The problem is that most people choose not to believe the evidence.

I really doubt that more people would have more faith in God. In fact, I think people would just refuse to look at and accept the proof (hey! wait a minute! isn't that what is happening?)

You wouldn't need faith for something that is present.
Plus, just because you could proove there's an existance of god doesn't mean it's necessarily the God of Jesus etc.
