How do you feel this scripture applies to spouse, parents and children, siblings, etc? Of course aren't supposed to go through life paranoid and not trusting anyone on some "level" so how do you understand or interpret this scripture?

I mean, pain is a physical reaction to stimulus. Without a body (and a brain to send pain signals) how can our non-physical souls feel pain?
I heard somewhere that the fire of Hell is described as "real fire" which leads one to assume it is the kind you find here on Earth...
And the worms that 'not not dieth', how will they feast on us when we are nothing more than apparitions?

Seems like a poorly though-up threat used to scare small children into obedience and faith.

Me and my Wiccan friend, I'm Christian, were having a discussion and she says that it means any religion other that Jewish, Christian, or Muslim but I say that it means to have more than one god. Which is right or does it mean something completely different?

"Troubled Soul"
You stood before me strong and tall
A mountain of love you give your all
You came into my life at a time I was low
And showed me love and the right way to go
All my pain and sorrow I put into your hands
I know no one else has the power but you can
To take my soul and wrap it in your arms
And keep it safe from all lifes harm
Worldly love I can get anywhere
But to save my soul takes a lot of care
The kind I get from only you
The kind I know will always be true
So I stand before you today
And with all my heart I pray
That you will take this troubled soul
And keep it safe as I grow old.

I started a new job today and I really enjoy it, but I've been informed that some Sundays I may be required to work. I cannot put anything before God. Sundays are my days of rest that I devote to God. I also refuse to miss church just to work. There are two other girls who I have asked to take my place while I work for them, but they also want to go to church on Sundays, even though they are not Christians. I really need a job and it is hard for me to find employment where I live. Please give me feedback!

Are you a christian or not? If you aren't, what are you - and why? Also, if you don't know, what would help convince you to become part of a religion? Also, for all non-christians, would you ever be swayed to become a christian? I think you should give christianity a chance - it has renovated my life and made it totally worth living and its made it so full of joy - and im only a young teen - imagine what Jesus will do for the rest of my life =]

also please dont be harsh about this question - im just trying to find out what most people are like, sorta idk, its hard to state what im tryn to do lol

so ya, please dont be mean bout the question - have fun answering =]

........and I do mean IF, I believe that He knows me very well. I think He appreciates that I have a sense of humour that can be a bit course or sarcastic and that if I swear or do something that an organized religion would consider wrong (say, picking up something heavier than a fig on the Sabbath aswell as the swearing etc.) I don't think HE judges me on those trivial little things. I think that all the truly devout religious people think that He knows them better through interpretation after interpretation of the bible and other scriptures and by following the rituals of their religion to the letter. I think that's poo. God knows that my heart is in the right place and that I would never knowingly hurt another person and do the best I can to behave properly in life. So I think my version of religion (if you want to call it religion) is as sound as anybody connected to any organized one. Except that I don't fear 'my' God's wrath because there's no need to.

Any comments?

For the life of me, I do not understand why Christianity is accepted as the "one true religion". What makes it so much more superior to all the other beliefs in the world? What makes it any better than polytheism, buddhism, taoism, shintoism, judaism, etc? Who gave Christianity the right to hold that claim? If it weren't for Constantine, we might all still be Pagan. Why is it that when this question will be answered, people will say cuz it is in the bible? The bible was written by men and is clearly contradictory in and of itself. I just don't get it. I think if a person holds a religious belief that is sacred to them, then it makes it as valid as Christianity.

heaven as a physical person but only in spirit. Of course after that argument I started to think and doubt the whole story. So I was born an skeptic. But over the years christians look at me in horror and suggest I am the devil incarnate. What's your take?

Personally, I think that it's hypocritical to say that it is, because the only evidence I can find in the Bible against homosexuality is in Leviticus, but few people follow all the rules that are set in Leviticus (no tattoo's, don't let a witch live, ect.) so why do you get to pick and choose? What's your view point?

I asked a question concerning Jesus as he is portrayed in paintings and other representations. A lot of people answered that he was Jewish, so he was white, or lighter skinned.

Does anyone know that the Jews who live in Israel are not what Jews looked like 2000 years ago? Most Jews we see today are from Europe. They moved to Israel before and after it was formed in 1948.

2000 years ago, the Jews living in the middle easy would look very similar to arabs living there now. So Jesus, being a Jew, would look like an Arab.

Your thoughts and opinions will come and go just like our short lives, so why give so much credit to what you think? Why think you thoughts matter on the subject? Why sit around on the computer, telling people there is no God, when it's just ridiculous to others that know there is?
