........and I do mean IF, I believe that He knows me very well. I think He appreciates that I have a sense of humour that can be a bit course or sarcastic and that if I swear or do something that an organized religion would consider wrong (say, picking up something heavier than a fig on the Sabbath aswell as the swearing etc.) I don't think HE judges me on those trivial little things. I think that all the truly devout religious people think that He knows them better through interpretation after interpretation of the bible and other scriptures and by following the rituals of their religion to the letter. I think that's poo. God knows that my heart is in the right place and that I would never knowingly hurt another person and do the best I can to behave properly in life. So I think my version of religion (if you want to call it religion) is as sound as anybody connected to any organized one. Except that I don't fear 'my' God's wrath because there's no need to.

Any comments?

paulywog: Why does everybody have to ask for God's forgiveness every day? Asking for asking's sake? Why? I think God wants you to ask for forgiveness if you've thought about something you feel that you've done is wrong. You know, a considered thought done out of trying to be a good person. I really don't think He expects blind appologies without you knowing what you're appologising for.

angelique: 'You have created your own god in your mind, one that winks at sin and will let you into heaven no matter what'

That's absolutely not true. That's presuming I've not considered what it says in the bible at all. The bible is a great guide but it's not to be followed to the letter because it can't be. It's too wide open to many interpretations that way. And so ensues the confusion of religion.......I truly believe you are supposed to find a way to learn from it's advice YOURSELF. How sure are you that what you've had interpreted FOR you is right? Has God told you that Himself any more than He's told me?

Barry: What nonsense.

'I' go to church every Sunday.
'I' believe every word the priest said today.
'I' believe God gave us free will.
'I' believe we should pray every day.

All random things that any releigious person could say. It's not arrogance, just the way the English language works when refering to yourself. Or are you meaning that 'I' aren't allowed to have an opinion that doesn't agree with your version of religion? It's your way, because it's God's way or it's the highway? Has God told you that personally or is that 'I' Barry's answer to my question??

You have the right to believe whatever you want...

But, the fact that you have to ask a question such as this makes me wonder if you are confident in your "version"

I don't think that there is any "version"...I would have to say that your revelation is determined by what type of relationship you have with God...

I am a Christian, and I don't expect my way of interpretation of the Bible to be the same as every other Christian out there...

Now, don't get me wrong, there is a right and wrong way to obey religion, but there is also the fact that every person has their own relationship with God...

So, my reality and interpretation may different from a Christian sitting ten seats down from me because of their character and lifestyle (speaking from their life's journey...)

But, I don't know that I would swear of flat out disrespect any way...because how could you be so filthy in front of a CREATOR OR HOLY ONE...A GOD....and you feel like that is acceptable on any level...regardless of religious choice...

Sounds very nice, and ideas such as the God's holiness are still things I don't fully appreciate and bother me. But how can you be sure that what sounds nice is how God sees things? At least with traditional christianity when you believe you can actually get to experience God's presence affirming that the message is true. Then get on a path of faith, where things gradually become clearer. Can you get that with a nice system of ideas? It might give you some kind of philosphical basis on which to live life, which would be better than what many have. But can you live in that sort of idea with any certainty of really being right with God?

Lot`s of vanity there in your question . Do you realize how many times you used " I " ?? "I"swear , "I" think , "I" have , "I" don`t think , "I" think (again) , "I" would , "I" can , "I" think (3rd time ) , "I" Don`t ???? The fact of the matter is that it doesn`t make any difference what you or any of the rest of us think ! If what you or anyone else "Thinks" is contrary to The Holy Word of GOD then all are wrong, there is no free pass ,and you miss out on eternal salvation . That`s not what "I" think , that is what GOD says` !! Remember ; There is no "I" in Jesus , but there is "us" !! "I" is right in the middle of "sin" ! ..About Fear of The Lord ..This is what GOD says` about it ... Proverbs 14 : 26 -27,, In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence : and his children shall have a place of refuge , The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life , to depart from the snares of death .... GOD said this in His Word , "I" didn`t !! I think your heart is in the right place , you just need to let GOD in it ! We`re all in this together , we are all equal in the eyes of The Lord ...Hey man , we love you and I Pray we can see each other in heaven some day , GOD Bless with Peace and Understanding

The only thing it is possible to know about this subject is that you don`t know, that he knows what you know `cos nobody knows. You can still be a wonderful person without the supernatural baggage.

Your wrong;God judges us on ALL things.The bible says be holy for I am Holy.It`s by grace and the cross that you are not killed for your sins.Jesus came to change us to His image.it`s your choice.I am no-one judge;just giving you the facts;you have to go before God in His throne and ask for forgiveness everyday.It`s called the cross a sacrafice by Christ so we can live.

Jesus said in the third chapter of John, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN!!!

If man could make himself righteous before a perfect and holy God, then Jesus never would nave come here to lay down His life
in our place and shed His precious Blood on your account.

We were all born SPIRITUALLY DEAD, in trespasses.....

THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS - NO NOT ONE!!! Rom. 3.

"Without the shedding of blood there is NO remission of sin.

It is appointed unto man once to die and after that, the judgment.

You had best read Romans chapter 1 and read through chap.10
if you TRULY believe that God will accept you because your heart
is in the right place.

IT IS THE BLOOD THAT MAKES ATONEMENT FOR THE SOUL.
~~~ Lev. 17. 11.
FOR ALL HAVE SINNED AND FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD!!! ~~ Rom. 3:23.
You have created your own god in your mind, one that winks at sin and will let you into heaven no matter what....but that god does
not exist...and what's more....you are breaking the second comm-andment that says YOU SHALL HAVE NO OTHER GODS BE-FORE ME...and so right there, you have broken one of the ten commandments and that means you cannot stand spotless be-fore God on the day of judgment....
It is ONLY through the SHED BLOOD of God's dear Son on the cross that you - or anyone - can have hope beyond this world....
I pray that you will STOP playing Russian Roulette with your eternal soul and RECEIVE Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
You may want to think that I am trying to say this to put you down,
or judge you, but I am NOT!!!
II cor 5:20. As ambassadors of Christ, we are IMPLORING you,
as if it were God Himself trying to reach you, to be reconciled to Him through His Son. my paraphrase, but that's the main idea.
Despite what you may hear or read to the contrary, we are not here to judge or condemn you..or anyone,,,but only that they take heed of the fact that WITHOUT JESUS, THEY ARE LOST and are in danger in heaven. We are telling you this so that you CAN be saved and spend eternity in heaven.
God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
God is NOT willing for you to perish!! He wants you to be saved
and born again believers, frail human beings that we are, are try-ing our best, as we are able, to tell people about the saving grace
of God and the unspeakably precious GIFT of salvation through His Son, but YOU need to receive that gift by FAITH!!!
PLEASE -- if you really do care about your eternal soul and what will happen to you when you leave this world, -- call this number and speak with someone who can explain all this ALOT better than what I am doing, I'm sure.....Whichever number you call, you
will find someone who will be so very happy to talk with you and if you want - pray with you....
1-800-759-0700 -- That is 700 club.
1-888-731-1000 -- TBN -- Christian television network.
1-800-600-7395 -- Kenneth Copeland Ministries.
Of course, it is up to you what you choose to believe and where you choose to spend eternity. God will NEVER force you to worship Him or receive His Son as Savior....It has to be your choice....
It's good to be good, but just being good will NOT be good enough
when you are standing before God....
It is like the lawyer who tries to defend himself....
You REALLY don't want to try it in God's "courtroom".....
It's NOT about RELIGION -- It's about ETERNITY -- and where you are going to spend it!!!!
It is NOT about being "better" or "worse" than someone else....
That is man's way of thinking......
~~ Eph. 2:8,9 --
SALVATION is a GIFT!!! GRACE is God's UNDESERVED FAVOR toward sinful mankind.
MERCY is God saving us from what we all deserve -- eternal hell.
GRACE is God GIVING us an eternity in HEAVEN, which we do NOT deserved.
WE CAN JUST SAY -- THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
THANK YOU FOR SAVING US -- WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US!!!!!
I WISH I had the words that could get through to you, but only God
can touch your heart with His love and His truth and I pray that you will open your heart to Him -- Not so you can "join" our religion
or whatever -- but for your ETERNAL REDEMPTION!!!!!
Which do you want - RELIGION or REDEMPTION??????
HEAVEN. . . .OR NO HEAVEN???
It is really up to you!!!
II THESS 2:10-12
