The sermon of the flower, where the only student who understood simply smiled. I think that Buddha, better than any religious teacher I can think of, taught the simplicity of life.

To respect all people regardless of their beliefs and to believe that all religions are "good" if they make the person good people. I have also learned that attachment to worldly things is/can be what prevents us from finding happiness and relief from stress. We all must overcome the self. Those are just a few things.
