Your thoughts and opinions will come and go just like our short lives, so why give so much credit to what you think? Why think you thoughts matter on the subject? Why sit around on the computer, telling people there is no God, when it's just ridiculous to others that know there is?

Merriam Websters Collegiate clearly states=heathen-unconverted member of a people or nation that does not acknowledge the God of the Bible, uncivilized or irreligious.
Don't get mad at me, I did'nt write the dictionary. Take it up with Webster

How do you "know" there is a God? I find that claim ridiculous. Have you met him? Talked to him and have him answer? Have any evidence other than what other people, and a book written thousands of years ago with no validation of truth, have told you?
And if, for the sake of argument, there WAS a God, then why do you care what other people think of him? It would be God's job to judge others. Not yours.

Um, heathens aren't atheists.....
And us true heathens and pagans give you our thoughts on the subject because this way you might have a bit of forewarning when we get to laugh in the faces of all the people who claimed we weren't going to Heaven because we're not Christians.... Divinity is -not- exclusive, and it looks like someone may just need to go back and read something about who should throw the first stone, or whether you should judge or not.

In the long term, my opinion doesn't matter. Neither does yours.
In the meantime though, I'm learning a lot about how some Christians think and act. It's a fascinating study.

You're right - why should I bother trying to change the world for the better, when I am just going to die anyway? Sheesh - I guess I will break out the ice cream and sweatsuits and never leave the couch again.
Also - after checking out your profile, why should I take you seriously anyway when you list "...God... occasional drug and alcohol abuse" among your interests?

Whereas your opinions will live on ... ummmm ... until you die...
Why do you give credit to what you yourself think? Why think your thoughts matter on the subject? Anyone who has an opinion is equally likely to be right on the subject of the supernatural or spiritual...

You certainly do not know there is a god. Such a claim to knowledge is absurd. Even if there were a god and you spoke with him and he spoke back you would not have any way of distinguishing that from severe schizophrenia.

Hmmmm perhaps you should do a bit of research before you shoot your mouth off.
Heathen and Atheist are not interchangeable words.
To answer your question: It matters when Christians want to have their fairy tales and other nonsense taught in public schools.

Dude, you don't even know what a Heathen is. I'm a real practicing Heathen, I worship a great many Gods and Goddesses. Heathenry has to do with reconstructionalist European religions.
I think the word you were looking for is Atheist. And Atheists can discuss anything they please, you cannot dictate to others what to do with their time.

Because if you lived in a culture that had "In The Grand Sky Pixie We Trust" stamped on your money, and the leader of your country worshipped the Grand Pixie, and your kid couldn't join Boy Scouts unless he kowtowed to the Pixie, you'd take an interest in Pixie related topics.
You can't know there is a god anymore than someone can know there is a Pixie. Most of us used to think like you and it isn't ridiculous to care about this. It matters deeply.
