Someone asked me if I was defining Fundamentalism correctly. This is the definition that I grew up with, but words change.

Fundamentalist Christians are defined as those who believe in
- The inerrancy of the Bible
- The virgin birth & the divinity of Jesus
- The doctrine of substitutionary atonement through God's grace & human faith
- The bodily resurrection of Jesus
- The authenticity of Jesus' miracles
- The anticipation of Jesus' bodily second coming

Does this definition suffice as fully descriptive of Christian Fundamentalism?

just drop one down from the sky that was written perfectly without any contradictions or metaphors or doubtful verses?

Why did he leave it up to men to compile the bible? It took many men over many years to smoosh this book together and it's full of imperfections.

He could save alot of souls if he would just send us a book that isn't so confusing.

I'm an Atheist and I don't visit this site much but on Myspace I've seen quite a bit of this. Some Atheists/Pagans don't like each other but I've noticed that most get along fine and actually like each other. Why is this besides...We're Satan's little helpers *wink*?

I would think the KJV would be more accurate than recent NIV translations, since it was the FIRST English translation.

So I understand why someone who rejects the Bible as real would ignore certain words in various scriptures, but I can NOT comprehend why a Christian would doubt and change what's in scripture.

For example: the KJV translation mentions Unicorns and Dragons, while NIV versions do not. If the Bible says these animals existed WITHOUT the mythical or magical powers humans have added on, why do those who claim to believe the bible is inspired by God doubt what they read? They're only animals. No more no less!

Job 39:9 Will the UNICORN be willing to serve thee, or abide by thy crib? (KJV)

Job 39:9 Will the WILD OX consent to serve you? Will he stay by your manger at night? (NIV)

Psalm 148:7 Praise the Lord from the earth, ye DRAGONS, and all deeps. (KJV)

Psalm 148:7 Praise the Lord from the earth, you great SEA CREATURES and all ocean depths. (NIV)

Each prayer i say, each prayer i sing
each prayer i say, heavens ring
God's here, i wont lose faith, God's here, I'll keep on holding on
Angels surround when i cannot see, they're here for me, forever, and long
each prayer i say, each prayer i sing,
God listens and is watching over me at the time i least expect it,
Heavens open, heavens ring, heavens bright
I walk along the shadow line, then i see a light

Everything will be fine as long as i keep a prayer open each night
You never know what a prayer can do, just say it one time and you'll make it through
Each breath i take, each grasp i take,
God's there to see it all
Angles surround when i cannot see, they're here for me, foever, and long
Little things in life, no need to hesitate,
just go fishing in the sea and you'll need good bait
fish swim freely in open water
they eat alge and other things
but see? Thats the point of life
things happen for every reason, so dont take a long breath,
God's there for you, :

Questions about dreams. Islam interprets dreams accordingly. If you are seeing a dream repetitvely. What does it mean. Please give references to the Islamic point. I expect answers from a person who knows good knowledge about Islam and interpretation of dreams. Please this is a question for the learned ones. I dont want any crap for this question. No scientific answers. Please all those who insult, offend Islam must stay away from this question. This has nothing to do with you. I just need answers from my muslim brothers/sisters who know the proper knowledge about it.

Since the founding of the United Nations, The Jehhovahs Witnesses have consistently refered to it as Satans organisation yet they still joined this organisation just a short time ago, even though the criteria for joining is to support this organisation.

Doing some research, it seems that reading astrological signs in the paper, getting your palm read or consulting spirit mediums is demon practices...according to the bible. Here are my findings
Deuteronomy 18: 10-12 says:

Let no one be found among you who sacrifices his son or daughter in [a] the fire, who practices divination or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who does these things is detestable to the LORD, and because of these detestable practices the LORD your God will drive out those nations before you.

Then I thought...we we are no longer under the mosaic law, what about today since we are under Christs law?

I then found Acts 16: 16 where a young girl was practicing divination and she was backed by a demon. Then Paul drove the demon out in the name of the Lord.

I don't know about you, but reading tarot cards, contacting the dead and reading zodiac signs is pretty bad.

Just been to see Richard Schiff in a play called "Underneath The Lintel", and this was the central question of it. I'm not talking about the "miracles" of everyday - births, plants, the thumb etc. As an atheist, I'm repeating the question to all and sundry - if you saw something you couldn't explain, something phenomenal - where would your line of belief be? David Copperfield? David Blaine? How incredible would a miracle have to be for you to believe it wasn't a trick?

Is there an evolutionary purpose to have a conscience and be able to reason, debate, and think about moral issues? Since humans are animals, just more resourceful than other animals, what would the benefit be from having these things? Does it keep us safe from other agressive animals? Does it provide us with a better way to procreate or find food?

My question is directed at those Creationists who take offence to their children being given a scientific education at school.
You claim you are being denied the right to teach your children the 'right' way, and yet at the same time you are denying your own children the right to think freely and make an informed decision.

If you are so convinced that the Bible is the only truth, then surely all the science in the world will not make a difference and your child will be 'saved' by their blind faith in religion.

If its God's plan for your child to have faith, then your child will be saved and a scientific education will not change anything. You might as well give them all the knowledge they deserve and God's plan will play out as its supposed to.
