Whenever a question is posed about women wearing a hijab or other covering, Muslim women invariably state that they feel free because men don’t look at them and they are not being judged on their looks. For me this raises some questions about Muslim women’s perspective about western women, how they dress and western men.
•How do you think the “real” western women dresses from day to day?
•Do you find real western women to be fundamentally immodest in their dress?
•Do you feel we dress solely to entice men? If so, do you feel this is a choice or that it is something we are forced to do? If forced, who is forcing us?
•If a man finds a woman attractive and looks at her, is this wrong? If it is wrong, who exactly is in the wrong, the man or the woman?
•If a man says something rude to a woman, who is in the wrong, the man or the woman?
Thank you for all your answers, I look forward to reading them and getting your perspective on our culture.
