I see people saying that God is a she, if this is the same God referred to in the Holy Bible, how can you even say that when Jesus Christ called him "Father"?

Why don't the people who thing God is female or anything other than male ask him what he is. I believe that the bible is God's own Holy word and if he was being misrepresented then he would have changed it. God is a living God. It is not like he has passed on to another place and cannot do whatever he wants to.

No Gender In Jesus

Jesus sees us without gender or religion, it wasn't talking about Jesus himself, I am sure Jesus knew he was a man.

Ok, check this out, someone said that Jesus referred to God as "father" because Mary is his mother. But Jesus also refused to see his mother Mary and his brothers because his followers were now his mother and brothers. And in doing this he was almost disclaiming to be her human child of this earth. I hope you understand this.

People can attempt to say it was a lack of the right wording, but was there not already a difference in the words Mother and Father.
Matthew 12:46-49:
46Jesus was still speaking to the people when behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak to Him.

47[a]Someone said to Him, Listen! Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak to You.

48But He replied to the man who told Him, Who is My mother, and who are My brothers?

49And stretching out His hand toward [not only the twelve disciples but all] [b]His adherents, He said, Here are My mother and My brothers.

Quit correct. I thinkt he people talking about gender and race and trying to apply them to God are simply trying to humanize him when he cant be humanized. God is always bigger in real life then he is in our minds.

Well, getting the "god" of western civilization to be male would be a great way for the powers that be to create a patriarchal society, that would be dominated by men until well into the late 20th century.

The same reason that women were not allowed to learn to read and write for a majority of history. Then, those women who disobeyed this tradition were subject to the Malleus Maleficarum, or The Witches' Hammer, because any "enlightened woman" must be a witch, and therefore evil.

The patriachal idea of God as male and the uber-feminist ideal that God is female are both very short-sighted concepts for dealing with an infinite spiritual force.

The Bible actually answers this question in Genesis. God created man (humanity) in his own image. Male and female He created them.

So, maleness and femaleness are both portions of God's character, or image, that He/She bestowed upon us. God doesn't really have a gender. Instead He/She is both genders.

See, gender is a human thing. It is something different from, and more than, sex or sexuality. It is part of what makes human more than animals and gives us some of the character of God.

Because we personalize according to our own tastes.

Jesus called him "Father" for his own relationship and how the culture around him would accept the teaching.

Teachings do change over time (just as Jesus upgraded adultery from Moses' law). We are ready to recognize God as Father, but also Mother, Friend, etc.

If God has no gender then it doesn't really matter. The bible describes God as a spirit. I guess that's one of the contradictions in the bible. Jesus reportedly called "him" "father" because according to the bible, Mary was his mother.

Perhaps because different religions approach the Divine in different ways. In Christianity, God is seen as male (predominantly). In other religions, Goddesses are honored as well as Gods.

In my opinion in the Divine has no gender -- gender is something that we as humans project onto a fundamentally unknowable Source.

Men wrote that junk
Thousands of years of male domination has just broke down.
What is 'Holy' about about a book that K.James and Luther have re-wrote.
But in literary and poetic license the male gender takes the lead.
But not today.

The scriptures say there is neither male nor female in Jesus. And since logic tells us we can't be in him physically, it must be spiritually. So I can only surmise that GOD is spirit. Below are the scriptures. That would be in the new testament.

The use of terms like Father, Son, etc., are theological anthromorphisms that are used to help us better understand what is impossible to fully comprehend, the divine nature of God.

By so doing, God, Christ, the prophets, etc., allowed us to form metaphorical pictures in our minds that we could draw upon to better comprehend God and His divinity.
