Most common sins we commit do not affect the body such as lying, stealing, pride, etc. Fornication (sexual immorality) is done against the body, and it has the most devastating physical consequences of disease and even death.
1 Cor. 6:19-20 continues on as to why we ought to flee this sin... "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body. "
If Christ is your Savior, He bought your body with His precious blood, and your body belongs to Him.

Well the bible is full of absurdities, so I imagine this is just one more. It was possibly put in to help control the people, and prevent the feminine worship of some of the pagans. It could have been set in to prevent pregnancy or disease spreading or whatever else.
Interestingly, the bible says it's ok to rape women if they're slaves (Leviticus 19:20)... Oh yeah and the bible gives instructions for how to kidnap a woman, break her will and force her to be your wife (includes shaving her head and keeping her alone for a month) and then if she's not good in bed you can just ditch her (Deuteronomy 21:11-14)...
So consensual fornicating is a sin, but rape is just fine? What kind of god are you worshiping exactly?

Going out and having sex is not sinning against anyone. It was a law or statement in order to try to control the people. Very difficult to marry your daughters off if they were not virgins, hence you also had to control the boys since they were looking to have sex, but if the girls' virginity is to be protected, then how do you control the boys. You do that through making it a sin. It is way easier to control people through telling them this or that is a sin, because they can not see it and do not know if sinning is happening, but are afraid that it is adding up against them in a place they can not see or confirm. It is the greatest brainwashing game ever played.
And to the mental monkeys who say that when we have sex God is with us having sex, etc. that is the stupidest thing that I have ever heard. No sane person could ever believe that, or be that mentally childish that it could come out of their mouths. Come on, think before you open your mouths.
Oh, and if my body is Jesus Christ's then he can not have it back. Possession is 9/10ths of the law. However, maybe he could take the body occasionally and workout for me, I get tired of doing it sometimes. That is how silly that one is.

1John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

I believe there is something beyond the physical that happens when you have sex.
1 Corinthians 6:15-17 (New International Version)
15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh."[a] 17But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

It isn't. You have to remember that this was probably something that came about during a time when everyone was sleeping with everyone else almost constantly, there was no birth control, and disease ran rampant.
There's NOTHING WRONG WITH SEX. There's only something wrong with it if you're being permiscuous.
Stop trying to make it into an evil thing.

It is the only sin against God because God is in us and when we are having sex we are joining God in it that is why we should not fornicate

Its not a sin if you swallow your own. Never use your left, because that would be adultery on your right hand.
