Both were sinful at the time and place whether they realized it or not.
Thomas Jefferson wasn't a spiritual leader claiming and didn't claim to be guided directly by god. Either way what he did still wasn't near as bad.

Question; Was is 'sinful' for a person to have a wife (age 6) at that time and place (over 1000 years ago)?
Thomas Jefferson had offspring by a '***** slave' about 200 years ago. Was that 'sinful' at that time & place?
