just a way of covering up the finality of life? A way in which to make life seem important and actually useful/worthwhile/controlling, whilst removing/surpressing our so called 'crocodile mind' to the gallows?

Discuss!

IDon't get me wrong, I like a lot of new Christian music, but I am tired of Christian music that could easily be referring to a boyfriend or girlfriend it's ambiguity. Is anyone else? I miss the Hymns they were so beautifully written and filled with Spiritual and Theological meaning.

Christianity so I thought is based on forgiveness of sins. So if I'm not Christian why would I go to Hell? Wouldn't the Christian God forgive me because all it is is a sin? Wouldn't that mean that if I were to go to a hell than everyone is because everyone "sins"?

In the Bible, in ancient times, in some cultures today - demons and angels seem to exist. So why don't we have them very much in North America? Any ideas/theories?

If you come to the conclusion that god doesn't exist based on logic and not a desire to sin or out of spite against god, i don't see how he would blame you for it if he is fair.

I always thought (when I thought about it at all) that belief in the supernatural was normal for a child (and for adults, for that matter).

However, I've seen a lot of atheists saying that people are "born atheist". Maybe it's a joke, maybe they're serious, but I do know that my atheist boyfriend was an atheist from an early age (as far back as he has memory) even though his family was Catholic and did their best to convert him along with the other kids. (It just didn't "take" with him for some reason.)

Any thoughts? Is belief in a supernatural force innate to children or must it be taught to them by adults?

And if not, what is the purpose for denominations? If the original message of Jesus is what is important, why do christians split themselves up based on trivial things?

I came across this poem and I can't even begin to tell you how it brought tears to my eyes. I can totally relate to it - every single word, and I don't doubt that my Guardian Angel must feel this way.. If he's still there anyway.

Why do so many women have problems with the male authority. The bible talks about submitting. That does not mean the man is to take advantage of the women but many women think it means that when it does not.

it's not really a song; I mean, there is music playing in the background but it's not sung, the person is more like reciting a poem or something; it is very inspiring. He's saying a lot of things about life like "live in New York once, respect your parents...." hard to explain really since I've heard it a long time ago. It came out sometime between 1998 and 2000. I heard once somewhere that it was actually a speech given by a professor to his graduating class. He also went on on saying things like, "admire your body, smile more, dance...."it sounds corny as hell but the way he says it it's very very inspiring. I think if someone knows it they'll know for sure what I'm talking about, since is a very distinct song, or poem. Any help will be appreciated, I've been trying to find that for a very long time..thanks in advance!

In what way is it helpful or meaningful? The concept of dying for other people's sins doesn't make any sense.

Was it Jesus' choice to be crucified?
In what way would it benefit others?
Wouldn't continued years preaching have been more useful?
