I was talking to a friend today and we were trying to recall the name of certain animals that are described in the Old Testament. I recall that they appeared flying around God when he appeared to people in fire. I can't recall which book of the OT this is in. The creatures (I think) had wings and other common animal features. Can you recall the name if the creatures I am referring to? And where can more be found about them?

You know,when he starts doing all sorts of miracles and stuff that not only catch the general populations attention;but also gets the scientific communities attention becuase he'll probably tell them how he did the miracles and stuff. Will you bow down and follow this person? Or will you get wise and remember that despite the signs and wonders, it's not good for your spirit to give any type of alligence to this person?

God is love? Unconditional love, I think not. There are conditions. i keep getting told God doesn't answer my prayers because I don't respect him. I'm told I don't feel the "Holy Spirit" because I haven't welcomed God.

Why do we, the so very imperfect beings need to be the first ones to love God. Why wouldn't God show himself to everyone, and have a loving relationship

dont people realize how complicated the human body more complicated than any machine ever created. even something as small as genetic deletion in an important protein can cause fatal illnesses and you people say millions of these process perfectly worked in unison to create a being. the chances are impossible. im not saying believe in any particular religion but you have to admit there is no way in hell it was a an accident

can anyone who practices analytical or transcendental (or both) forms of meditation please give me help. how do they work? i know in analytical you think about something, but what do you think about? or in transcendental what kind of saying would be a good mantra? also, what do you feel is the best form of pre-meditation, breathing techniques, clearing of the mind, etc.?

for those who have done both, which do you think is the best form

I was wondering what modern religions say about the moon. I know there was old mythology, like the Greeks, that had outragious stories about the moon. Is the moon mentioned in any of the scripture for modern religions?

Like when a child is sexually abused, more often than not they think it's their fault? It can seem like there is no other answer, even though it's so obvious that they were an innocent victim of a horrible person.

Now if those victims can think something that is so obviously wrong, don't you think it might be time to uestion what you are sure of?

i'm Catholic and really believe in my religion, but i might b bisexual too. I'm still a virgin since I follow my beliefs; I'm 21. Its being hard since all girls want to sleep w me cause of my looks, but i've managed to still stay virgin. Well the problem is that when i was a kid i use to have sexual relations with another little boy and that is why i'm confused...i was like 8 he was like 12. Well we didnt have sexual relations because there was never intercourse or something to the extent, it was like a game.. is this normal?

It seems after extensive debate on here the underlying reason for creation was we were made to love God. Jesus gave two commandments, essentially Love God, and your neighbour. Why love your neighbour, because your neighbour is one of God's creations, so loving your neighbour is really an extension of loving God. Which means our soul purpose in life is to love God. Why? Why does God need to create an entire universe, and entire race, just to have someone to love him? Insecurities?
