Creatures that appeared with God in the Old Testament... what were they called?

Question

I was talking to a friend today and we were trying to recall the name of certain animals that are described in the Old Testament. I recall that they appeared flying around God when he appeared to people in fire. I can't recall which book of the OT this is in. The creatures (I think) had wings and other common animal features. Can you recall the name if the creatures I am referring to? And where can more be found about them?

Look in Isaiah and Ezekiel.

There are mentioned creatures called Seraphim, Ofanim, and Chayos (hebrew terms). These are classes of Angels.
