I have no fear of homosexuals, have friends who are gay, and work with some....but I will never stop knowing that it is an abomination before God. It is wrong - period. Does that make me homophobic?

Considering the fact that the phrase "separation of church and state" is found nowhere in the Constitution but in a private letter of Thomas Jefferson's. And if you read the constitutional Amendment is says (to paraphrase) that government shall make no law respecting one religion over another.

So I want to know what the big deal is over whether or not someone prays in school, why there's a fit over 10 Commandments plaques on government property, nativity scenes, the Pledge of Allegiance including the words "one nation under God" and our currency stating "in God we trust".

Nobody is saying you have to do anything with any of the above examples or go to a Christian church. They're just there. To me, only as an example of the heritage of this country. I hesitate to say it 'cuz I know it's gonna tick some of you off, but the legacy of this country has been predominantly Christian.

So why the uproar?

What things are new?

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

I'm not athiest, but I'm not any religion either. I've never been baptised, read the bible, or been in a church, but I don't "not believe" in any of it, I've just never learned about it. I'm not 18 yet, so I don't have the choice to go to church on my own (I can't drive or anything). Does this mean I'll go to hell?!?

I need to interview someone who is of the Buddhist faith for my final paper in one of my classes, but I spend most of my time traveling with work and have not been able to meet with anyone local.

If you are of the Buddhist faith, and willing to participate in a short interview via e-mail or phone please let me know.

Thank you in advance!

I'm a 28 yr old traditional (keep kosher and shabbos) Jewish woman (and doctor) who is waiting for marriage to have a sexual relationship. How long should I should deprive myself, especially when I live in a culture where Jewish men are messing around, and not interested in marriage?

They will question the Bible, stateing that anothers are lacking bible knowledge. Then go on and say that theyve read the bible, studied ancient texts etc.. then turn around and copy/paste sections of an atheist website that uses very specific Bible verses and bashes them by taking these texts out of context of its meaning.

hilarious.. do they know how stupid they sound?

Romans 1:21
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

Why don't they teach their children that every thing in the bible is false and they should do everything opposite of what the bible teaches. Then see how far they get in life. What do you think would be the outcome? Better or worse?

As a Christian, I feel embarassed at the way some of those who call themselves my fellow Christians behave towards others. My God is a God of unconditional love and mercy, but the reason He gives us free will is that he also has unconditional respect for us. I hope that instead of using Y! Answers to flame those who don't agree with us, my fellow Christians will join me in showing others that same unconditional respect for those who don't share our beliefs. Christ and his apostles never shoved it down anyone's throat, and neither should we.

If you're moved to respond, please indicate a) whether or not you consider yourself to be "Christian"; and b) why you think many on here believe that flaming and name-calling and ramroding are effective evangelism tools.

I mean, you find questions such as "Does God exist?", "Do you have a proof that God exists?", "Do you have a proof that evolution is correct?", "Will they go to hell?", "Can you prove that (Christianity, Islam or Judaism etc.) is THE religion?"
These are only some samples. I got sick of this, nobody out there knows much about this no matter what a religious book say. You believe God exists fine, that's up to you, and you needn't make statements to prove His existence, just believe! Because you won't change people's minds. You don't believe? Fine! Don't ask for proofs, because it's a matter of faith. End of story!
