The Book of Romans has been described as a Spiritual Pilgrimage. Romans 1:21 is merely the earliest stage - the attempt of the author Paul here is to show all men to be under sin. Chapter 1 deals primarily with the irreligious, whereas Chapter 2 deals primarily with the religious. Chapter 3 presents a conclusion and introduces God's solution to the problem; justification by faith. Chapters 4-6 enlarge on the theme, Chapter 7 presents one of the major pitfalls, namely, legalism; and Chapter 8 is the glorious goal - the Spirit filled life. Chapters 9-11 considers the subject in the light of God's dealings with Israel; chapters 12-15 brings us into practical application of the earlier truths presented, and chapter 16 adds a personal touch, greetings to Paul's beloved associates.
The only way I know not to get bogged down in Chapter 1 is to keep progressing through the Book until you reach the goal - the overcoming Spirit filled life.
Jesus said, "If you know these things; blessed are you if you do them." John 13:17

The Bible is the word of God, and when people allow themselves to be led by false teachers that teach the lie, basically the same lie that Satan deceived the first woman with, namely that her eyes were bound to be opened and that she would be like God Gen 2:4,5 To be like God is not any different than some one saying to you= If your Good Your going to heaven?
(Have you been told that?)
The Bible does speak about some that will go to the heavens, That were from among mankind (Revelation 6:10, Revelation 20:4, but in general the hope for mankind is earthly, as Jesus said at Mathew5:5 and Mathew 6:10, also see Psalms 37:9-11,29
The main point of understanding for Romans 1:21 and to answer your question honestly is 1st Thessalonians 5:21, and to realize that God's word is :All authority and we should follow its advice.
When we study scriptures to find the truth of the Bible then we need to correct our mistakes of miss-understanding and remember that all scripture is inspired of God. 2 Tim 3:16 and a good rule of thumb is to search all scriptural thought as to a subject. Doing other wise would be to just as Rom 1:21 states.
I will ask you a question and see if you can answer it from scripture? What is the Kingdom of God? (Hint It was the main theme of Jesus ministry ) gemhandy@hotmail.com

Think about it in terms that you will understand and more common for this day and time.
What is a person that knows someone personally, but then has no relationship with that person even though they do know the reality of who and what they are. Instead, such a person will fall back to thinking that their view is better and more to be considered than what they know is true and this will end up literally putting out any light that such a relationship originally brought by that choice.
Hope that helps you.

James 4:6 "God is opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble"
To humble ourselves before Him each day, seeking HIS wisdom and not our own. To glorify Him, and not ourselves.

By obeying God and following his word only, not adding to or taking away from it. Keeping your eyes on the goal which is heaven. Stay on the straight and narrow and you will be rewarded with eternal life.

There are many people that put their trust in their Church, Preacher or teacher instead of in God. After years of sitting in the same place in Church they have become complacent and forgotten their first love.
They begin serving the Church or the preacher instead of GOD.
