Here's a broad and open-ended question: we get lots of different people with different beliefs here in R+S. I want to know what you all believe and why. Consider it a poll.
Me, I believe that the world around us is real and knowable and that investigation of it is a good foundation for a way of life and of thinking. I believe that a true scientist knows she does not have all the answers, but still trusts her senses and her research. I believe that there is a pretty slim chance that a higher power exists, and that religions are the creation of humanity alone. I believe people can live good and worthwhile lives without either fear of any god or fear of an afterlife, and I believe that people have the responsibility and the power to make the world a better place not according to the mandate of any supernatural being, but because it is good for humanity.
I believe these things because I think a lot about them, and they have proven true in my (still-limited) experience.

He said, "Surely they are my people, sons who will not be false to me"; and so he became their Savior. In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old. Yet they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them." Isaiah 63:8-10

Or will Jesus sort of Snatch up the wheat, and burn the Chaff simotaneously?
I am asking is the Rapture certain, and non-believers will be Left Behind for the anti-christs wrath, or will Jesus just do it all at once. i.e. "pull up and seperate the wheat from the chaff, throwing non-believers into the fire.
I think I know, but I would like some more answers please, what do you believe.
This is open to everyone, no exclusions here.
Give me your best.

...and was as loving as they said he was?

Forget about the supernatural powers and the raising from the dead and what everyone said was his supernatural significance.

If you think he was a historical figure, what is your opinion of him as a man?

I found this website;
http://www.fixedearth.com/
And I started to laugh when reading it. Clearly the person was making a joke! Poking fun at the ignorance of certain others, right?
Seems not. Seems this person is serious. Worse, there are others who actually believe this crap.
How could the education system fail them so badly?

(For those of you who don't want to click the link for whatever reason, let me give you a quote from the website, and no, I'm not making this up;
"The Bible and all real evidence confirms that this is precisely what He did, and indeed:

The Earth is not rotating...nor is it going around the sun.

The universe is not one ten trillionth the size we are told.

Today’s cosmology fulfills an anti-Bible religious plan disguised as "science".

The whole scheme from Copernicanism to Big Bangism is a factless lie.

Those lies have planted the Truth-killing virus of evolutionism

in every aspect of man’s "knowledge" about the Universe, the

Earth, and Himself."

Stop focusing so much on the Bible. You could disprove every tittle and jot of all the holy books ever written and that would STILL not disprove the existence of a higher power.

I realize atheists have their work cut out for them, considering the irrationality of many Christians, but you need to know that there are plenty of us who accept the existence or possibility of deity without believing in one word of the Bible or Quran.

I'm tired of people assuming that there are only two choices - Christianity or atheism. At the risk of making enemies on both sides, I'd like to point out that many of us don't buy what EITHER of you say. Frankly, I believe the average person is right in the middle - believing in "something," but not Christianity and not that there are no deities at all.

And YES, I said "tittle."

What are you working towards in life?
I want to be finished with my PhD, have a tenure-track position at a research university, be married, have lots of dogs, and have the confidence to speak up for what I believe in (and not just on the internet).
I also want to have worked to ensure that the Intelligent Design movement loses its base of followers.

"Christians these days will look for all the wrong doings of all the other religions, but usually they are blind to their own wrong doings(or their fellow Christians wrong doing)"

So, do you agree, or not?

Please explain why?

Thank you. This question is just a matter of opinion, I did not generalize all the Christians, I know that Christianity if practiced properly it is quite peaceful.

This is how the conversation went........
Mum were there dinosaurs when you were little? Mother answered no.
Ok were there dinosaurs around when God made the world? Mother answered no.
So who created dinosuars? Mother was stumped?
Can anyone answer this for me......
It seems like a logical question that dinosaurs were around for a long time and apparently God created the world in 7 days.
Does this disprove God and the creation theory?

The Bible says you go to heaven or hell . If you want to go to heaven all you have to do is believe that you are a sinner and Jesus went to the cross to pay for your sins and shed his blood for you and if you believe that just look up and ask him to save you and you will be in heaven with him forever when you die. This is what the Bible says. Be Informed Before Leaving Earth
